20200132550 · 2020-04-30 ·

A process for determining a tooth color of a filling or another restoration is provided which in particular is produced using composite materials, wherein at least one tooth is scanned or is visually detected. The process is characterized in that natural teeth are spectrally measured in advance, that the color values measured within a color space are classified into several, in particular four, categories which each form a color cloud extending in a three-dimensional fashion within the color space, which is done with the help of a structuring algorithm, in particular a Nearest Neighbour Algorithm, or a symmetry recognition algorithm, and that the tooth color of the filling is determined by means of evaluating to which category the tooth scanned has the smallest color distance, or to which color cloud the tooth scanned belongs.

GENERIC FRAMEWORK FOR BLURRING OF COLORS FOR TEETH IN GENERATED IMAGES USING HEIGHT MAP
20200105028 · 2020-04-02 ·

A method includes determining depth values associated with a first set of pixel locations in a first image of a mouth. A first function is generated for a color channel based on intensities of the color channel at the first set of pixel locations and depth values associated with the first set of pixel locations. Image data comprising a new representation of the teeth is received, wherein the image data comprises a second set of pixel locations and new depth values associated with the second set of pixel locations. A new image is generated based on the image data and the first function, wherein a shape of the teeth is based on the image data and a color of the teeth is based on applying the first function to the second set of pixel locations for the teeth and the new depth values.

The invention concerns a process for the approach to an oriented relative position between a camera or scanning device and a dental assistance element (10), in particular via an app on a smartphone, for recording the dental assistance element (10), such as a miniature shade guide (10). A mark (4) is attached to the dental assistance element (10), and/or at least one part of the dental assistance element (10) is used as a mark (4). A stencil (6) which is congruent with or mathematically similar to the mark (4) is displayed on a display device of the camera or scanning device. For the approach to the oriented relative position between the camera or scanning device and the dental assistance element, a modification of the degree of coverage of the stencil (6) with the mark (4) or the one part of the dental assistance element (10) is detected.

An auxiliary color selection body (10) is provided for target objects (34) such as dental objects, having a base body. The base body (12) has at least two inner walls (16, 18, 20) which extend transversely, in particular at right angles to each other, from which inner walls the base body extends outwardly as far as to the outer walls (22).

The base body (12) extends in two dimensions between the inner walls and the outer walls, with color selection areas (30) and reference features (32) arranged on the auxiliary color selection body. The auxiliary color selection body can be arranged in the vicinity of a target object (34) such that a straight line passing through two target object proximity points (38, 40, 42) on the inner walls sweeps across the target object.

A system having an auxiliary color selection body and a method for determining the colors of a dental object, i.e. the colors of tooth, residual limb or gingiva, is provided, wherein the auxiliary color selection body (10) has a substantially U-shaped or L-shaped or ring-shaped structure, on which at least one, preferably 4, reference features (18), for recognition of the auxiliary color selection body (10) is/are attached, and wherein, with respect to the reference features (18), a plurality of tooth, stump or gingiva color fields (30) are arranged on the color selection auxiliary body (10).

It is provided for an image of a tooth (16) to be taken with the auxiliary color selection body (10) being adjacent thereto on at least two sides and the tooth color is determined based of this image.

System and method for measuring color or shade of an object

A color or shade assessment system and a method of assessing color or shade of an object. The system may include a color or shade measurement device having a probe portion terminating at a distal end, a light emitter assembly, and a light receiver assembly. Furthermore, a spacer including a sleeve extending from a proximal end to a distal end and defining a passageway may be coupled to the probe portion. The spacer may be alterable between (1) a first state in which the spacer is detached from the probe portion; and (2) a second state in which at least a portion of the probe portion extends into the central passageway of the sleeve and the distal end of the probe portion is located between the proximal and distal ends of the sleeve.

COLOUR REFERENCE FOR CALIBRATING A DENTAL COLOUR CAMERA

The invention relates to a color reference for calibrating a dental color camera comprising a plurality of fields. A surface of the color reference comprises color fields for color calibration as well as white fields and/or gray fields for a white balance and/or a shading correction.

COLOR MEASUREMENT WITH STRUCTURED LIGHT

A system includes an intraoral scanner and a computing device operatively connected to the intraoral scanner. The intraoral scanner generates three-dimensional scan data of a tooth and further generates color data of the tooth under multi-chromatic light. The computing device receives the three-dimensional scan data and the color data of the tooth during a first mode of operation.
