In one particular implementation, the processor receives a measurement dataset of one or more color values, for a sample obtained by a color measurement device. The processor is configured to convert the measurement dataset to a standard space measurement dataset using a standard space measurement model and calculate a color dataset based on the standard space measurement dataset using a color conversion model. The processor is further configured to output the calculated color dataset to at least one of a display, database or local memory store.

In one or more implementations, the apparatus, systems and methods disclosed herein are directed to configuring a color measurement device to output color measurements that match the expected output of a different color measurement device. In a particular implementation, a method is provided for matching the color measurements made by a color measurement device to the color measurements made by a target color measurement device by implementing a single step color calibration and conversion process using an Artificial Neural Network (ANN). By way of non-limiting example, the raw counts from the color measurement device is converted to a specific color space, such as L*a*b, directly through an ANN. Such ANN is trained to ensure the output of the color measurement from the color measurement device will match with the output of the color measurement from a target color measurement device.

The adjustment pattern includes a first patch printed in the first patch region and a second patch printed in a region other than the first patch region in the second patch region. The second patch includes a common color patch in a same color as a color of the first patch, and a size of the first patch is larger than a size of the second patch.

System and Method for Creation of Topical Agents with Improved Image Capture

A method is described including displaying a user's body portion image on an optical display of a device employed by the user. The device may include an image sensor and the body portion image may be sensed by the sensor. The method includes determining whether a position of the body portion image relative to the sensor is acceptable to allow for recording of the body portion image; determining whether a lighting environment associated with the sensor is acceptable to allow for recording of the body portion image; recording the image using the sensor to provide a recorded image having image data; processing the recorded image to determine lighting model data associated with the lighting environment; and determining reflectance and color characteristics associated with the body portion based on the recorded image and the lighting model data. In one embodiment the optical display has an illuminant and when the lighting environment is not acceptable for recording, the method instructs the user to modify the lighting environment so that illumination of the body portion is less than about 2% of the illumination provided by the illuminant, illuminates the body portion with constant white light using the illuminant and determines whether the illuminated body portion is positioned relative to the sensor to allow for recording of the body portion image by displaying an outline of the body portion on the optical display to position the body portion in view of the sensor. Processing of the image in this case may include direct computation to determine the lighting model.

SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING A UNIFORM AND TUNABLE HYPER-SPECTRAL SOURCE

An illumination system includes an illumination source configured to emit illumination light and a dispersive optical element configured to generate an angularly dispersed optical signal from the illumination light that is used to generate a spectral image. A digital micro-mirror device (DMD) includes an array of reflective elements that receive the spectral image and direct a portion of the spectral image to an integrating sphere. A controller is configured to calculate a subset of an array of reflective elements of the DMD to activate based on a target illumination output signal using a calibration model of the illumination system. The controller is also configured to activate the subset of the array of reflective elements to change the portion of the spectral image directed to the integrating sphere to generate an illumination output signal that substantially matches the target illumination output signal.
