A Method and Apparatus for Comparing Colors have been disclosed. In one implementation a compliant membrane which is substantially transparent with an area having a shade/color is placed on the user's skin to see what the shade/color will look like on the skin. In one implementation a compliant substrate which is largely transparent with an area having a shade/color is placed on an inanimate object to see how the shade/color will appear on the inanimate object without the substrate itself causing an unnecessary barrier between the inanimate object and the shade/color.

Automated color selection method and apparatus with compact functionality

Systems and methods are provided and include a web server configured to provide data to a terminal for generating a display within a web browser of the terminal. The display has a first column of selectable color chips, each representing an associated color family, and a second column of miniature selectable color chip sub-family arrays, each having selectable color chips. A user selection from the first column causes a central display area to display an initial miniature selectable color chip sub-family array. The display also has an enlarged color chip and a room display displaying a room. A user selection of a color from the central display area causes (i) the enlarged color chip to change to the selected color, (ii) an area of the room to be colored with the selected color, and (iii) an initial row of color palettes, each including the selected color, to be displayed.

Optical sensor packages employing cloaking layers

An optical sensor package includes a substrate, a wall disposed upon the substrate, and a cover layer disposed on the wall. The substrate, the wall, and the cover layer at least partially define a cavity. The optical sensor package also includes a sensor disposed upon the substrate within the cavity. A cloaking layer is disposed upon to the cover layer. The cloaking layer is transmissive to at least a portion of a light spectrum and is configured to at least partially conceal the sensor. In some examples, the optical sensor package also includes a light source disposed upon the substrate within another cavity at least partially defined by the wall and the cover layer.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETERMINING THE COLOR HOMOGENEITY OF HAIR
20190285476 · 2019-09-19 · ·

A method and device for determining the color homogeneity of hair is provided. In accordance with various exemplary embodiments, a method comprises providing a digital image in which hair is depicted and which is parameterized in a color space which is defined by employing a parameter set in which one of the parameters is a hue, defining at least one hair analysis region in the digital image, determining a hue distribution in at least one hair analysis region, and determining at least one color homogeneity value on the basis of the determined hue distribution.

Estimating colorimetric value of measured target image

An image processing apparatus includes a memory and an estimation unit. The memory stores a color conversion model representing relations between plural colorimetric values obtained by performing, in plural color measurement directions, a color measurement of plural images formed on a first sheet using plural coloring materials including a luster coloring material, and coloring-material amounts used for the images for which the color measurement is performed and the color measurement directions for which the colorimetric values are obtained. The estimation unit estimates, on the basis of a colorimetric value, of a measurement target image formed on a second sheet of a type different from a type of the first sheet, obtained in a single direction and on the basis of the color conversion model, a colorimetric value, of the measurement target image, obtained in a case of performing a color measurement in a direction other than the single direction.

System for Creating and Providing a Product of a Certain Color or Texture Chosen by a Subject and Product Produced by such a System
