INTEGRATED CIRCUIT AND MEASURING DEVICE
An integrated circuit includes a first detection element that detects a temperature of an object based on infrared light reflected from the object and a second detection element that detects an image of the object based on visible light reflected from the object on the same substrate.
Blackbody function
A blackbody radiometric reference comprising a source plate or a target plate, metallic nanoparticles or other high emissivity coating disposed on the plate, and an intermediate coating such as paint. The plate may comprise copper, aluminum or composites thereof. Apparatus capable of functioning as a radiometric or thermometric reference. A pre-heater or weakly-coupled area may be disposed around or adjacent a highly thermally uniform area. A groove or perforations extending into a front surface of the source plate defining a weakly-coupled edge portion surrounding a thermally-controlled, optically-active area, and connected by bridges or structures thereto. An external probe may be located near the source plate for measuring ambient temperature, for compensating for ambient temperature or for radiative load on the blackbody.
Radiation detector
A radiation detector and method and computer program product for detecting radiation. The detector comprises a waveguide structure, a sensing structure comprising a phase change material, an optical transmitter and optical receiver. The optical transmitter transmits an optical sensing signal for receipt at the optical receiver via the waveguide structure. The phase change material comprises a first phase state at a first temperature range and a second phase state at a second temperature range and transitions from the first phase state to the second phase state under exposure of the radiation. The sensing structure is arranged in an evanescent field area of the waveguide structure and provides for an evanescent field of the optical sensing signal a first complex refractive index in the first phase state and a second complex refractive index in the second phase state. The first complex refractive index is different from the second complex refractive index.
Flash thermography device having moveable arm for inspecting internal turbine components
A flash thermography device for generating an infrared image of a turbine component located inside a turbine. The device includes a flash enclosure having an aperture. A flash source is located in the aperture wherein the flash source generates a light pulse that heats the turbine component. The device also includes an infrared sensor for detecting thermal energy radiated by the turbine component wherein the radiated thermal energy is transmitted through the aperture to the infrared sensor to enable generation of an infrared image of the turbine component. Further, the device includes moveable arm that holds the flash enclosure and infrared sensor wherein the arm is inserted through an opening in the turbine to enable positioning of the flash source and infrared sensor in close proximity to the turbine component.
