A force measurement system is disclosed herein. The force measurement system includes a plurality of force measurement assemblies, at least some of the plurality of force measurement assemblies configured to be independently displaceable from other ones of the plurality of force measurement assemblies such that one or more particular ones of the plurality of force measurement assemblies that are disposed underneath a subject varies over time. Each of the plurality of force measurement assemblies includes a top surface for receiving at least one portion of the body of the subject; and at least one force transducer, the at least one force transducer configured to sense one or more measured quantities and output one or more signals that are representative of forces and/or moments being applied to the top surface of the force measurement assembly by the subject.
PRESSURE SENSING DEVICE FOR USE WITH A COMPRESSION BANDAGE
A pressure sensing clip (1) and a system including a bandage (19) for detecting and displaying the pressure applied by a (compression) bandage (19) to a human or animal body in which the pressure sensing clip (1) has an inner bandage penetrating arm (2) and an outer arm (3) hingedly attached to the inner arm (2) at a hinge (4) so that the outer arm (3) is movable between a hingedly closed position with respect to the inner arm (2) and a hingedly open position. The device can be operatively attached to an applied compression bandage, or it can be placed beneath or between the bandage during bandage application so that the bandage covers the sensing part of the device. In the latter application, the ability of the arms of the device to adapt an open configuration allows the bandage to be applied over the inner arm leaving the outer arm to close once the bandage has been applied. The device can receive, store and transmit data to a user.
Load sensor and load detecting device
A load sensor is provided with a seat mounting hole between both end parts of a rectangular plate-like main body portion of a load receiving member. A plurality of strain detecting elements the resistance value of each of which changes depending on the amount of strain of the main body portion are disposed around the seat mounting hole. In plan view of the load receiving member, the center point of the seat mounting hole is offset from the center point of the arrangement of the plurality of strain detecting elements toward a part of the load receiving member that has relatively high rigidity.
SENSOR SYSTEM INTEGRATED WITH A GLOVE
Sensor systems are described that are designed to be integrated with gloves for the human hand. An array of sensors detects forces associated with action of a hand in the glove, and associated circuitry generates corresponding control information that may be used to control a wide variety of processes and devices.
PRESSURE SENSOR
The present invention is a pressure sensor (1) which includes a sensor main body (2) having a cavity, a cantilever (3) having a lever main body (20) and a lever support portion (21A, 21B) and which is bent according to a pressure difference between the cavity and the outside of the sensor main body (2), and a displacement detection unit (4) which detects displacement of the cantilever (3) based on resistance variation in resistance values of the main body-resistance portion (31) formed in the lever main body (20) and a lever-resistance portion (32) formed in the lever support portion (21A, 21B). A division groove (40) is formed in the lever support (21A), and the division groove (40) divides the lever-resistance portion (32) into a first resistance portion (32a) which is electrically connected to a detection electrode (35) in series and a second resistance portion (32b) which is positioned so as to be closer to the other adjacent lever support portion (21B) than the first resistance portion (32a). The first resistance portion (32a) of the lever support portion (21A, 21B) is electrically connected to the detection electrode (35) via a parallel path of a first path (S1) passing through the main body-resistance portion (31) and a second path (S2) passing through the second resistance portion (32b).
Instrumented rotary tool with compliant connecting portions
A rotary tool for operation within an underground wellbore or within tubing in a wellbore has at least one force-sensitive element attached to the tool body and positioned to contact the conduit wall, wherein the force-sensitive element comprises an outer portion to contact the wellbore or tubing wall, at least one connecting portion which is more compliant than the outer portion and through which the outer portion is connected to the tool body, and at least one sensor responsive to force on the outer portion transmitted through the force-sensitive element to the tool body. The sensors may resolve forces into measurable forces on three axes. Possible rotary tools include drill bit, reamer, mill, stabilizer and rotary steerable system for a drill bit.
3D PRINTED CONDUCTIVE COMPOSITIONS ANTICIPATING OR INDICATING STRUCTURAL COMPROMISE
An article includes a body and at least one 3D-printable conductive composite segment in mechanical communication with the body. The body includes a first material and the at least one conductive composite segment includes a matrix material, a plurality of carbon nanotubes, and conductive additives. The conductive additives include a plurality of metallic particulates, a plurality of graphitic particles or a combination thereof.
Load cell
A load cell includes a flexure element having a Roberval mechanism in which the respective ends of a pair of top and bottom parallel beams including a thin section are integrated in a fixed portion and in a movable portion, and a stopper for preventing an overload disposed between the pair of the top and bottom parallel beams by being fixed to the fixed portion. The front portion of the stopper is disposed in a concave portion for engaging the stopper formed on the inner side surface of the movable portion and extending in the width direction, and the front portion of the stopper of which a width is larger than the movable portion projects outwardly in the width direction of the movable portion.
Two-axis sensor body for a load transducer
In one aspect, a transducer body includes a support having clevis halves. The sensor body includes a generally rigid peripheral member disposed about a spaced-apart central hub joined to each of the clevis halves. At least three flexure components couple the peripheral member to the hub. The flexure components are spaced-apart from each other at generally equal angle intervals about the hub; the sensor body further including a flexure assembly for some flexure components joining the flexure component to at least one of the hub and the peripheral member, the flexure assembly being compliant for forces in a radial direction from the hub to the peripheral member. Each flexure assembly is configured such that forces transferred concentrate strain at a midpoint along the length of each corresponding flexure component.
