Surgical traction tension adjustment device
11813188 · 2023-11-14 ·

The present invention discloses a surgical traction system with a hand gripped tension adjustment device that slidably mounts onto a boom structure. When activated the tension adjustment device moves down the boom structure and incrementally adjusts the tension in a traction rope. The boom structure attaches to a bracket assembly that mounts onto the short end of a surgical table.

TENSIONING DEVICE AND DRIVEN MEMBER THEREOF

A tensioning device includes a housing, a drive member, an inner sleeve and a driven member. The housing includes a first attachment feature. The driven member includes a second attachment feature. The inner sleeve is disposed at least partially in the housing and is rotatably coupled with the housing. The drive member is rotatably coupled with the housing and is operably coupled with the inner sleeve such that rotation of the drive member facilitates rotation of the inner sleeve. The driven member is movable with respect to the guide member between a retracted position and an extended position along a centerline.

A cable barrier system is managed by a cable barrier management system including a management system controller having a management processor and a plurality of turnbuckle subsystems joined to respective barrier cables to provide pretension. Each of the turnbuckle subsystems has a strain gauge mounting zone, and strain is communicated from a strain gauge circuit to the management processor. The controller is configured to determine excess strain events. Strain event data is sent via a wireless data communications interface to a remote recipient computing device.

A method includes providing a strap having a length enabled to encircle one side of a user's hand and tricep area when the user's elbow is bent at 90°, and creating a loop with the strap. The loop closing with a buckle, and positioning the inside of one end of the loop around a ventral or dorsal portion of a user's hand or fingers. A step is provided for positioning the inside flat surface of a second end of the loop around at an area at a back side of the user's upper arm, above the elbow, with the elbow bent at approximately 90 degrees. The strap is then tightened to achieve an effective stretch as determined by the user and the stretch may be held for a determined amount of time thereby increasing strength and flexibility and lessen pain in the user's hand, wrist and forearm.

Tension monitoring arrangement and method

Tension monitoring is described using a sensor which may exhibit an offset for which compensation may be provided to produce a zero voltage amplified output or to increase dynamic range. An arrangement determines whether a power reset is responsive to a battery bounce such that an initially-measured system start-up parameter can be retained. The start-up parameter is automatically saved at start-up if the power reset is responsive to a start-up from a shut-down condition. The start-up parameter may be a zero tension amplified output responsive to the sensor offset at zero tension. Protection of a tension data set is provided such that no opportunity for altering the data set is presented prior to transfer of the data set. A housing configuration forms part of an electrical power circuit for providing electrical power to an electronics package from a battery.

The invention relates to a system for monitoring the state of a cable (70), which is guided in an energy chain (1) between a base and a movable driver element. The movable energy chain forms a movable run (1B) at a driver element (2), a resting run (1A) at a base (4) and, between the two runs, a deflecting bend (1C). A monitoring device having at least one indicating element (64) at the energy chain (1) evaluates an indicating-element signal and monitors whether an error state occurs. The indicating element has two electrical indicating conductors (62A, 62B) guided by the energy chain, which indicating conductors extend along the movable run (1B), and the monitoring device comprises a measuring circuit for resistance measurement or conductance measurement (65 . . . 69). One end point of each indicating conductor (62A, 62B) is connected to the measuring circuit and the other end points of the indicating conductors (62A, 62B) are short circuited such that the indicating conductors (62A, 62B) form a measurement loop (62).
