A web-tension-measuring device has two plates, which can be rotated relative to one another about an axis of rotation, to be precise such that the one free end of the one plate can be moved towards, or away from, the corresponding, opposite free end of the other plate. A force transducer is arranged in the region of the free ends of the two plates and outside the axis of rotation. The force transducer is configured, during movement of the free ends of the two plates towards one another, to detect a corresponding compressive loading arising from the movement and, during the movement of the free ends away from one another, to detect a corresponding tensile loading between the two plates.

WEBTENSION TRANSDUCER LOAD CELL WITH INTEGRATED DATA INTERFACE
A tension transducer (also known as a tension load cell) contains a strain gauge signal conditioner and a data interface to transfer calibrated tension data over a data connection. Integration of signal conditioning allows for reduced system infrastructure within the tension control system, as no external amplifier is required for the tension transducer load cell. This also provides remote calibration and monitoring of the load cell for error conditions, directly through the data interface, with no reliance on external amplifier hardware. Additional integrated sensor information is sampled, and made available over the data connection, which may be pertinent to the web process. This includes load cell force direction orientation, internal temperature, excitation voltage, and raw load cell small-signal output voltage. The signal conditioning and diagnostic capabilities of the apparatus and method can be applied to any load cell device, and is not limited to web tension transducer load cells.
Blade Sharpness Testing Device
The apparatus for testing the sharpness of a blade is arranged with a tape extending between a feeder spool and a receiver spool. The apparatus applies tension to the tape, and has a carriage arranged to bring the blade into contact with a stretch of the tape. The blade progressively makes a long-ways cut in the tape and, as it does, a measuring device detects the amount of force exerted for the cut to occur to determine whether the blade is sharp. A clamp locks the stretch of tape when in a straight line for contact with the blade, and has a main opening through which the tape moves longitudinally when driven between the spools A guide is arranged to help keep the stretch of tape in the straight line and has a main opening through which the tape moves longitudinally when driven between the feeder and receiver spools.

Assisted racking of digital resistance
Assisted racking of digital resistance includes detecting a state of a cable. A motor is mechanically coupled to the cable to provide resistance during an exercise by tensioning the cable. It further includes determining completion of the exercise based at least in part on the detected state of the cable. It further includes selectively removing resistance from the cable based at least in part on the determination that the user has completed the exercise.
Assisted racking of digital resistance
Assisted racking of digital resistance includes detecting a state of a cable. A motor is mechanically coupled to the cable to provide resistance during an exercise by tensioning the cable. It further includes determining completion of the exercise based at least in part on the detected state of the cable. It further includes selectively removing resistance from the cable based at least in part on the determination that the user has completed the exercise.

An information related to the position of an actuator coupled to a cable which is coupled to a motor is received. A filter is used to provide an input to a motor controller coupled to the motor, to adjust torque on the motor such that a strength curve is implemented relative to the position of the actuator.
