MOISTURE DETECTING AIR CAP INDICATOR FOR EXPANSION TANK FAILURE
Disclosed is an expansion tank having an internal cavity separated by a flexible diaphragm to form an upper pressurized gas portion and a lower pressurized fluid portion, and an indicator positioned at an upper part of the expansion tank in communication with the contents of the upper pressurized gas portion. The indicator is configured so as to display a first color if the operating conditions arc normal in the pressurized gas portion, and a second color if the amount of moisture detected in the pressurized gas portion greater than or equal to a predetermined amount. Further disclosed is a method for detecting whether there is an excessive amount of moisture in a pressurized gas portion of an expansion tank by allowing pressurized gas from the pressurized gas portion to come into contact with the indicator, and viewing the color displayed by the indicator. As such, the tank can be simply visually inspected to determine whether there is a potential failure in the tank.
DEVICE FOR TESTING THE LEAKPROOFNESS OF A SURGICAL INSTRUMENT, REPROCESSING DEVICE FOR REPROCESSING SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS, AND USE OF A SWELLABLE MATERIAL BODY
A connecting device through which a gas can flow, for connecting a port of a surgical instrument to a reprocessing device for cleaning the surgical instrument, the connecting device including: a self-actuating valve with a swellable material body.
Leak detection formula, analyzer and methods of use
Detecting a leak from a site in a sealed system with a source of pressurized gas which is capable of passing through the site, a composition of matter which adheres to the surfaces of the system and which is capable of showing the presence of the gas escaping from the site. The method includes: injecting gas into the system to a pressure in excess of the surrounding pressure, and covering the external surface with the composition to identify the location of the site by the interaction of the escaping gas with the composition. The composition is foam that includes a surfactant which forms a least one bubble in the presence of escaping gas and an indicator which changes color in the presence of the escaping gas. The leak is an opening down to at least the size of a hole 0.001 in diameter. A gas detector may also be used.
COMPOSITE MATERIAL WITH FAILURE DETECTION PROPERTIES
A multiple layer composite material having fluid breach detection features provides indication of a failure in a fluid barrier. The indication of breach of fluid is provided before failure of a final layer of the composite material. The multiple layer composite material includes more than one fluid impermeable layer with an intermediate layer sealed between the fluid impermeable layers. Failure of one of the fluid impermeable layers is detected by fluid contact in the intermediate layer. The intermediate layer includes a reagent and/or detection device to indicate that the fluid has reached the intermediate layer.
SIMPLE LEAKAGE DETECTION IN A HYDRAULIC CYLINDER UNIT
A hydraulic cylinder unit (1) having a hydraulic cylinder (2), a piston (3) which can be moved in the hydraulic cylinder (2), and a servo valve (7). The piston (3) separates working volumes (5A, 5B) of the hydraulic cylinder unit (1) from one another. The servo valve (7) is connected to a hydraulic pump (8), a tank (9), and the working volumes (5A, 5B). The servo valve (7) is supplied with a pump pressure (pP) via the hydraulic pump (8). The tank (9) has a tank pressure (pT). The servo valve (7) is adjusted to a defined valve position (y). A piston position (z) of the piston (3) in the hydraulic cylinder (2) and working pressures (pA, pB) which are applied to the working volumes (5A, 5B) are detected. An analysis device (12) ascertains a leakage coefficient () of the hydraulic cylinder unit (1) using the piston position (z), the working pressures (pA, pB), the valve position (y), the pump pressure (pP), and a value which represents the tank pressure (pT) in connection with time-invariant parameters of the hydraulic cylinder unit (1).
SENSOR ARRAY FOR REFRIGERANT DETECTION
An HVAC/R assembly including an HVAC/R unit including a casing, a heat exchanger disposed within the casing, the heat exchanger configured to circulate a refrigerant therethrough, and a plurality of sensing devices in communication with the HVAC/R unit, wherein each of the plurality of sensing devices is configured to detect a presence of the refrigerant.
Leak indicator
The present invention concerns a liquid leakage detection apparatus. The apparatus includes a sample cavity, a housing with an opening and a housing contact face, an indicator body with an indicator body contact face, and a expansion element cavity between said housing contact face and said indicator body contact face. A liquid sensitive, expandable element is located in the expansion element cavity and a liquid path extends between the liquid collecting portion and the expansion element cavity.
