BLOWER UNIT AND COUPLING FOR DETECTING LEAKS
A coupling for use with a blower unit for detecting leaks in a structure, wherein the coupling is constructed and arranged to attach to a surface of the structure defining an opening and to the blower unit, and to allow air flow through the coupling when the blower unit is attached to the coupling and to prevent air flow through the coupling when the blower unit is not attached to the coupling, and wherein the coupling further includes a pressure port defined within a surface of the coupling constructed and arranged to accommodate at least one of a differential pressure gauge fitting or a tube.
Leak detection system
Described is an apparatus and method for detecting leaks in a storage tank or containment of the type having a removable cover. The apparatus includes a replacement cover for the containment, a vacuum source, a fitting mounted in an aperture in the replacement cover and connected through a valve through a vacuum source, and a sprayer wand for spraying soapy liquid onto interior walls of the tank. Also provided is a method for detecting leaks in a storage tank or containment including the steps of emptying the tank of its contents, cleaning interior walls of the tank, spraying a soapy water liquid onto interior walls of the tank, reducing pressure within the tank, and examining the interior walls of the tank for bubbles.

Breach or contamination indicating article, optionally with pre-warning indicator
Provided, among other things, is a breach or contamination indicating elastomeric article for indicating a breach or contamination by a selected chemical or group of chemicals, the article having an exterior and interior and comprising: (1) an interior elastomeric layer selected to resist permeation by the selected chemical(s); and (2) exterior thereto, a contiguous or dis-contiguous first indicating layer comprising a dye or pigment and an opacifying agent, the dye or pigment providing the layer with color, the first indicating layer changing color and/or opacity when contacted with a selected chemical such regions of the article where the layer is so contacted contrast with non-contacted regions. A subsequent, interior layer can provide a safety buffer allowing for removal or disposal prior to any potential for harm. A second, interior indicating layer can be used to make the warning louder when a serious breach is occurring.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SCOUR MONITORING WITH FIBER OPTIC SENSORS
A scour monitoring system may provide a housing that is separated into multiple segments that are fluidically isolated from each other. The scour monitoring system may be position adjacent to a structure to be monitored for bridge scouring. Each of the segments may provide a water-swellable material positioned near or in contact with a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) cable. If water penetrates a segment, the water-swellable material may expand to deform the FBG cable. The wavelength of the FBG cable may be monitored periodically for changes, thereby providing moisture detection when a change in wavelength is detected.
Adaptor, system, and method for inflating a glove
An adaptor for use to direct pressurized fluid into a glove to inflate the glove is disclosed. A kit for holding several test components for use to inflate a glove is also disclosed. The kit is provided for testing a glove for leakage. The components include an adaptor, a strap, and a portable pump, which can be either a DC-powered air compressor or a hand or foot pump. A method is also disclosed for inflating a glove to test the glove for leaks.
