Flow testing methods and systems
Systems and methods of flow testing different workpieces in an automated testing station are described. Each workpiece comprises a flow path from an inlet to an outlet and the automated testing station comprises first and second sealing heads for injecting gas into the inlets of workpieces and collecting gas from the outlets of workpieces. The method includes performing a flow test by moving the flow test heads toward the workpieces while at the same time priming a flow of gas from the first sealing heads to the second sealing heads, prior to engaging the workpiece.
Assembly for measuring a leakage in a drinking water supply system, and pressure reducer
Assembly (10) for measuring a leakage in a drinking water supply system, with a backflow preventer (12), wherein the backflow preventer (12) is opened if there is a pressure drop caused by drinking water consumption downstream of the backflow preventer (12) as viewed in a flow direction of the drinking water, and wherein the backflow preventer (12) is closed if there is no pressure drop caused by drinking water consumption downstream of the backflow preventer (12), as viewed in the flow direction of the drinking water, with a volume flow meter (13) connected in parallel to the backflow preventer (12) and via which, if the backflow preventer (12) is closed, a leakage flow of drinking water caused by a leakage in the drinking water supply system downstream of the backflow preventer (12) can be routed, wherein the volume flow meter (13) is integrated into a bypass (14) to the backflow preventer (12).
Tube leak detection device and tube leak detection method
A tube leak detection device for detecting leak of at least one tube of a heat exchanger which increases a temperature of a liquid by heat exchange between the liquid flowing inside the at least one tube and a fluid flowing outside the at least one tube includes: an inlet opening-and-closing valve and an outlet opening-and-closing valve disposed at an inlet end and an outlet end of the at least one tube, respectively; and a pressure detection member for detecting a pressure inside the at least one tube between the inlet opening-and-closing valve and the outlet opening-and-closing valve.
Fluid control device
A fluid control device, capable of detecting leaks even if the leaks is slight, is provided. The fluid control device includes a valve body in which the flow path is formed, a diaphragm isolating a closed space from the flow path, a bonnet forming the closed space between the diaphragm and providing a penetration hole connected to the closed space and penetrated to be able to vertically move a diaphragm retainer, the diaphragm retainer vertically moving in the penetration hole to press the diaphragm and providing an increased diameter portion not to be removed from the penetration hole, a pressure sensor detecting a pressure inside of the closed space, and an elastic body interposing between the increased diameter portion of the diaphragm retainer and the bonnet inside of the closed space and elastically expanding and deflating between the increased diameter portion of the diaphragm retainer and the bonnet as the diaphragm retainer vertically moves.
RACK COOLING DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM WITH LEAK DETECTION
A liquid cooling distribution system can be installed to an information technology (IT) rack to deliver and distribute fluid to IT equipment. The liquid cooling system can include a fluid manifold and a container that is arranged to capture a fluid that leaks from the fluid manifold. A first fluid sensor can be arranged to detect the fluid at a first position in the container. A controller can be configured to reduce a flow of the fluid into the fluid manifold and pump out fluid from the fluid manifold, in response to the fluid in the container being detected at the first position. Further remedial measure can be taken based on various detected leak scenarios.
Aircraft pneumatic system
An aircraft pneumatic system including a pneumatic actuator arranged to operate at a pressure value at least equal to a pressure threshold, a line fluidly connected between a pneumatic source and the pneumatic actuator, and a venturi disposed upstream of the line and downstream of the pneumatic source. The venturi is configured to receive a source flow from the source at a mass flow rate, the mass flow rate being between a lower, nominal flow rate value and a higher, graded flow rate value. The venturi is sized such that when the mass flow rate is at the nominal flow rate value, a line pressure inside the line corresponds to a source pressure upstream of the venturi, and when the mass flow rate to the venturi is at the graded flow rate value, the line pressure is less than the source pressure.
Method of testing for leaks in the piping system of a building
A method of testing for leaks within substantially the entirety of a piping system of a building or a section thereof. The method comprises isolation of a main of the piping system and removal of the building fixtures. Optionally, a line trace and/or a dye test may be implemented. The method further comprises purging the piping system to at least partially reduce or eliminate entrapped air. The method further comprises sealing the plumbing outlets of the piping system and filling the piping system up to a predetermined elevation above a highest fitting connection or up to the highest serviceable point of the system. The method further comprises inspecting the piping system for leaks after a predetermined period of time, which may be anywhere from immediately after filling the piping system to about twenty minutes thereafter.
LEAK DETECTION FOR PRESSURIZED FLUID SYSTEMS
In accordance with at least one aspect of this disclosure, a fluid system of an aircraft includes a primary fluid conduit that conveys a primary fluid, and a leak detection system disposed around at least a portion of the primary fluid conduit and forming one or more detection volumes. The leak detection system determines whether there is a primary fluid leak into the one or more detection volumes by sensing a pressure change in the one or more detection volumes.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING DEVELOPMENT OF A LEAK IN THE DRY PIPE SECTION OF A DRY PIPE SPRINKLER SYSTEM
A pressure maintenance system for a dry pipe sprinkler system programmed to store and report compressor activation data from which development of a leak in a dry pipes section of a dry pipe sprinkler system can be ascertained based upon an abnormal increase in activation of the compressor, and a method for detecting development of a leak in a dry pipes section of a dry pipe sprinkler system employing the pressure maintenance system.
PORTABLE HYDROSTATIC TEST TOOL
Hydrostatic test tool 100 comprises frame 161; pressurizer 120; connection system 110; control system 130; data communicator 140; power supply 150; device handler 162; and buoyancy unit 163. Hydrostatic test tool 100 can be used to perform an in situ seal test of subsea equipment connectors with limited support from external systems, allowing optimization of subsea operations by not requiring constant support from underwater vehicle 5, which could be used to perform other tasks while the test is being carried out, optimizing the total time of support vessel 6 and reducing operational cost. Hydrostatic test tool 100 typically requires interfacing with underwater vehicle 5, e.g., an ROV or AUV, only for deployment/installation and data communication, if at all.
