WATER SAMPLING IMMERSION PROBE

The present invention relates to a water sampling immersion probe (50) for continuously filtering a water sample from wastewater (14). The water sampling immersion probe (50) includes a distal coarse filter (60) with a porosity of 0.1 to 1.0 mm, a proximal fine filter (70) arranged downstream of the coarse filter (60) and having a porosity of less than 5.0 μm, and a sample suction opening (74) arranged downstream of the fine filter (70). The coarse filter (60) is arranged to not contact the fine filter (70).

No purge sampler

A no purge sampler for collecting fluid samples includes a flexible tube having a sealed first end and a second end, the tube defining an interior cavity, a check valve disposed at the second end of the tube, and at least one aperture above the check valve. To collect fluid samples, the no purge sampler is lowered into the fluid to be sampled. The at least one aperture streamlines the tube as it is lowered into the fluid reducing drag-down and mixing. Once the sampler reaches the desired depth, the sampler is pulled upwards allowing fluid to enter the interior cavity. The sampler is then pulled out of the fluid without losing any of the fluid in the interior cavity of the tube or contaminating the sample with any extraneous fluid.

Method for detecting phase change temperatures of molten metal

A detection device for molten metal is provided. The detection device includes a sample cup having a cavity configured to receive a sample of molten metal and a blob arranged in the cavity. The blob includes a carbide stabilizing element and a hydrogen releasing material including a hydroxide of an alkaline earth metal. The blob is provided for use in detecting phase change temperatures during solidification of a sample of molten cast iron. The blob is also resistant to moisture gain and moisture loss during transport and storage. A method of detecting phase change temperatures of the molten iron or molten cast iron sample using the blob and a method of manufacturing the blob are also provided.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRESERVATION, TRANSPORT, AND ANALYSIS OF WATER SAMPLES

A device for collecting contaminants from water samples is provided. The device includes a solid sorbent that collects and stores the contaminants from water samples. The solid sorbent is configured to allow for the preservation of the stored contaminants. The concentrations of the contaminants in the water samples are determined via analysis of the solid sorbent or via elution of the stored contaminants from the sorbent and analysis of the eluate solution.

Systems and methods for a color board for use in reagent strip testing are disclosed. One implementation may include a color board surface, a first colored reference element printed on the color board surface, and a second colored reference element printed on the color board surface. The color board may also include a test region on the color board surface configured to receive at least one reagent pad. The color board may also include a unique code, and the code may reflect specific chromatic properties associated with each of the first colored reference element and the second color reference element at a time of printing. The unique code may be machine readable to enable a machine to later normalize a comparison color, for determining chromatic properties of the at least one reagent pad.
