Apparatus and method for collecting environmental samples
An unmanned aerial vehicle detector includes an unmanned aerial vehicle, a pump/detector combination on the unmanned aerial vehicle and a tube including a rigid section and a flexible section. The tube is connected at a proximal end to the pump/detector combination. The pump/detector combination is configured to draw gas samples from a distal end of the tube to the detector and to detect a level of a gas drawn from within a prescribed distance above ground level.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GAS SENSING AND MONITORING
A system, device, and method for leak detection and monitoring. The system includes a plurality of gas sensors with wireless connectivity adapted to be distributed over an area of interest that contains a suspected gas leak. An aggregator aggregates leak detection data obtained from the plurality of gas sensors. At web-based user interface allow viewing of the data on any of various non-specific electronic devices. The user interface is simultaneously accessible on a plurality of wireless mobile devices. A wireless local area network, such as a mesh network with the sensors as nodes, interconnects each of the plurality of gas sensors and the aggregator.
Automatic Sampling Device And Method For Determining Greenhouse Gas Emission Flux From Farmland
Disclosed are an automatic sampling device and method for determining greenhouse gas emission flux from farmland. The device includes a static chamber, a current meter, and a collection box. The static chamber communicates with a gas inlet of the collection box. The current meter is arranged in a gas pipe between the static chamber and the collection box. The static chamber is used to cover plants to be tested and to keep the plants to be tested in a closed environment. The current meter is used to determine a gas flow rate in the gas pipe between the static chamber and the collection box in real time. The collection box is internally provided a plurality of collection loops and a controller. Each collection loop is used to collect a gas in the static chamber at different time according to collection settings of the controller.
Natural gas liquid pressure regulating vaporizer sampling system
Provided herein is a system and method for natural gas liquid sample conditioning including an insulated cabinet having a sample input, a vaporizer, a heated regulator, a gas sample outlet, and a control system for preventing phase separation and or re-liquification of the conditioned sample before entry into an associated analyzer and in a specific embodiment, featuring an automatic shutdown system to prevent sample liquid from further processing and passage to an associated analyzer.
Sampling techniques to detect hydrocarbon seepage
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for detecting seepage of hydrocarbons in subterranean zones. In one aspect, a method includes detecting hydrocarbon seepage at multiple different sampling depths from a surface in a surveyed geographic region, comparing each of the hydrocarbon seepage at the multiple different sampling depths, wherein hydrocarbon seepage at a reference depth is known, and determining hydrocarbon seepage through the surveyed geographic region based on a result of the comparison.
Gas Sampling and Management System
A gas monitoring and control system including a gas sampling chamber, sampling inlet and outlet valves, a pump and a controller. Sensors are disposed within the interior chamber that sense characteristics of a gas from a gas source and generate representative signals. The sampling inlet and outlet valves i) allow the gas into the gas sampling chamber while operating in a gas sampling state, and ii) allow ambient air into the gas sampling chamber while operating in a purge state. The pump i) causes the gas to flow through the gas sampling chamber while operating in the gas sampling state or ii) causes ambient air to flow through the gas sampling chamber while operating in the purge state. The controller causes the sampling inlet and outlet valves, and the pump to alternate operating in the gas sampling or purge state to selectively expose the sensors to the gas.
IN SITU SOIL GAS PROBES AND SAMPLING SYSTEMS
The disclosure includes a soil gas sampling probe for collection samples of soil gas, a soil gas sampling system that includes at least one recirculation loop that includes a soil gas sampling probe as a component, and methods of using the soil gas sampling probe and the soil gas sampling system.
Vacuum-assisted in-needle capplicary adsorption trap with multiwalled polyaniline/carbon nanotube nanocomposite sorbent
A vacuum-assisted in-needle capillary adsorption trap (VA-INCAT) device for sampling and delivering materials to an analytical device is disclosed. A sorbent is multiwall carbon nanotube/polyaniline (PANI/MWCNT) nanocomposite and is coated within an interior space of the needle between the second end and the side aperture to entrap an analyte within a sample. The VA-INCAT device also includes a vacuum device configured to vacuum the vacuum flask to improve the extraction of the analytes vapors from the sample matrix to the sorbent bed.
Subsurface Environment Sampler
A Sampler and process for collecting, growing, inoculating and evaluating microbes in-situ. The Sampler may be loaded with an active or inert media to assist with the collection of microbes. It is closed and lowered to a desired depth. Sampler is opened to initiate sampling. Materials are added to the sampler to stimulate growth or change the environment. To collect and grow in situ microbes, the sampler is left open for a period of time, a trigger closes and seals the sampler capturing contents specific to that location. The sampler is lifted preserving the in-situ conditions from the collection location. The contents of the sampler can be interrogated through sealed ports at the field site or at a remote location. The sampler can also be utilized as a biologic reactor allowing researchers to connect laboratory equipment to analyze, modify, or cultivate the collected sample.
