Diagnostics systems and methods
A point-of-care diagnostic system that includes a cartridge and a reader. The cartridge can contain a patient sample, such as a blood sample. The cartridge is inserted into the reader and the patient sample is analyzed. The reader contains various analysis systems, such as an electrophoresis detection system that uses electrophoresis testing to identify and quantify various components of the blood sample. The reader can process data from the various patient sample analysis to provide interpretative results indicative of a disorder, condition, disease and/or infection of the patient.
CONTROLLED PRINTING OF A CELL SAMPLE FOR KARYOTYPING
Methods and techniques for controlled printing of a cell sample for karyotyping are provided. The methods can involve matrix printing using on-the-fly printing or dispensing to accurately spread cells within at least one cell sample on a surface in preparation for karyotyping, and further analysis. Advantageously, the methods result in a uniform distribution of chromosomes of the cell suspension or sample on the surface of a substrate which can be substantially discretely identified, and also provide for efficiency in a subsequent staining process and any further analysis of the stained chromosomes using a microscope or other imaging device.
TISSUE TREATMENT DEVICE
A tissue processing device includes a cassette for carrying tissue; a cassette container in which the cassette is received; a working stage, the cassette container being movably disposed on an upper side of the working stage; and an elastic vessel disposed on a lower side of the working stage, wherein the working stage defines a through hole, the cassette container communicates with the elastic vessel by means of the through hole, and each elastic vessel is configured to squeeze a reagent contained therein into the cassette container when the elastic vessel is deformed and to suck the reagent from the cassette container into the elastic vessel when the elastic vessel is restored. When the elastic vessel is deformed, the reagent therein is squeezed into the cassette container so that the tissue is immersed by the reagent, and when the elastic vessel is restored, the reagent contained in the cassette container is sucked into the elastic vessel to release the tissue from the reagent, so as to process the single tissue by means of a unique solution to prevent cross-contamination.
FLUID DELIVERY METHODS
Provided herein is a fluid delivery method for permeabilizing a biological sample. The method includes delivering the fluid to a first substrate and/or a second substrate. At least one of the first substrate and the second substrate includes a spacer. The method further includes assembling, subsequent to the delivering, a chamber comprising the first substrate, the second substrate, the biological sample, and the spacer. The spacer may be disposed between the first substrate and second substrate. The spacer may be configured to maintain the fluid within the chamber and maintain a separation distance between the first substrate and the second substrate. The spacer may be positioned to at least partially surround an area on the first substrate on which the biological sample is disposed and/or at least partially surround the array disposed on the second substrate.
METHODS FOR SAMPLE TRANSFER FOR IN SITU ANALYSIS
The present disclosure relates in some aspects to methods for preparing biological samples for in situ analysis of one or more analytes, wherein the biological sample has been previously affixed to a substrate, which is not compatible with in situ analysis, for example, due to the absence of positional markers and/or fiducial markers and/or a region suitable for in situ signal detection on the substrate.
SLIDE STAINING ASSEMBLY AND COVER MEMBER
A sample processing assembly for treatment of a sample on a substrate includes a mounting surface for the substrate and a closure body configured to releasably retain a cover member. The closure body is movable between an open position and a substantially closed position. When a substrate is placed in the assembly and the closure body is in the substantially closed position while retaining a cover member, a reaction chamber is formed for processing a sample. A cover member for use with the sample processing assembly is also provided.

AUTOMATED TISSUE SECTION SYSTEM WITH THICKNESS CONSISTENCY CONTROLS
A microtomy system includes a tissue chuck configured to accept a tissue block and a microtome blade configured to remove one or more tissue sections from the tissue block, the microtome blade being axially offset from the tissue chuck along a horizontal axis, where the microtome blade and the tissue chuck are axially displaceable relative to one another along the horizontal axis. The system also includes a control system configured to receive information indicative of a relative axial location of the microtome blade to the tissue chuck along the horizontal axis, and to use a control loop to control the relative axial location of the microtome blade to the tissue chuck such that the one or more tissue sections have a desired thickness.
