The present disclosure relates to methods for isolating whole cells from frozen tissue samples. The present disclosure further provides kits for obtaining isolated whole cells from a frozen tissue sample. One benefit to the methods and kits can be the rapid isolation of whole cells from frozen tissues upon thawing. Another benefit to the methods and kits disclosed herein can be the rapid and efficient extraction of isolated whole cells from stroma material in frozen tissues. Another benefit to the methods and kits disclosed herein can be the isolation of whole cells from frozen tissues suitable for subsequent biochemical analysis.
SUPPORT BACKING STRIP TECHNOLOGY AND METHOD FOR NON-DESTRUCTIVE IDENTIFICATION OF LATENT PRINT AND DNA DEPOSITED ON ADHESIVE MATERIALS
A method is provided for recovering a sample of DNA. The method includes providing a portion of adhesive tape having first and second opposing major surfaces, wherein said first major surface has an adhesive disposed thereon; applying a backing strip to the second major surface of the tape, thereby obtaining a mounted tape, wherein said backing strip has first and second opposing major surfaces, and wherein said first and second major surfaces of said backing strip are embossed; capturing a fingerprint on the first surface of the mounted tape, thereby obtaining a specimen, wherein said specimen contains DNA; winding the specimen into a helical configuration in which opposing surfaces of the adhesive tape are spaced apart from each other by said backing strip, thereby obtaining a wound specimen; placing the wound specimen in a receptacle; and extracting a sample of DNA from the wound specimen with a solvent.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PHYSICOCHEMICAL CHARACTERIZATION OF MATERIALS
An analysis method and device including detecting at least one particle of matter in a fluid inside in a reaction chamber and correlating a change in the particle to a physicochemical property of the matter.
Agricultural sampling system and related methods
A coulter assembly for collecting soil samples from an agricultural field in one embodiment comprises an annular collection blade configured for penetrating soil to capture a sample, an annular cam ring configured for stationary mounting to a frame of an agricultural vehicle and comprising a cam track, a blade hub coupled to the blade for rotatably supporting the annular collection blade from the annular cam ring, and a movable sample collector mounted to the annular collection blade. The moveable sample collector is configured and operable for extracting a soil sample as the annular collection blade is rotated through the soil. The moveable sample collector in one embodiment comprises a piston mechanism including a cylinder and rod movably disposed therein which actuated by the annular cam ring to alternatingly open and close a collection end of the cylinder as the annular collection blade rotates through the soil.
SOIL ANALYIS COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS
Compositions for testing soil to measure one or more of the following properties of soil: pH, buffer pH, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, and/or magnesium. Test methods for testing soil to measure one or more of the following properties of soil: pH, buffer pH, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, and/or magnesium. A multichamber cartridge containing two or more of the compositions in separate chambers.
Integrated dissolution processing and sample transfer system
In one aspect, a system for controlled temporal extraction of ingredients of a pharmaceutical dosage form is disclosed, which comprises at least one reservoir for storing a fluid comprising a solvent, a cell having at least one inlet port in fluid communication with said reservoir for receiving a flow of the fluid from the reservoir and an outlet port through which fluid can exit the cell, where the cell is configured to receive a pharmaceutical dosage form. The system can further include an in-line heater disposed in proximity of the inlet port of the cell for heating the fluid to an elevated temperature prior to entry thereof into the cell, and a pump for causing fluid circulation between said reservoir and said cell.
METHOD OF PROCESSING A BIOLOGICAL SAMPLE
A method of processing of a biological sample containing multiple metabolites is described The method comprising the steps of pre-treating the biological sample with a metabolite extraction solvent to provide a pre-treated sample, separating a first aliquot of the pre-treated sample by reverse phase liquid chromatography (RPLC) to provide a first eluent containing resolved hydrophobic metabolites, and separating a second aliquot of the pre-treated sample by hydrophilic interaction liquid interaction chromatography (HILIC) to provide a second eluent containing resolved hydrophilic metabolites. The first and second eluents are assayed using targeted tandem mass spectroscopy operated in multiple reaction monitoring mode. Each liquid chromatography step(LC) is directly hyphenated with the tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) into a single LC-MS/MS analysis. The extraction solvent typically comprises methanol, isopropanol and an acetate buffer.
