Microchannel analyzing device having a filling confirmation region
An analyzing device has a main body and is configured to draw a sample liquid from a spot application section of the main body and transfer the sample liquid to a measurement chamber via a microchannel structure formed inside the main body by a centrifugal force. The spot application section has an inlet. The analyzing device includes a supplying capillary channel formed within the spot application section. The supplying capillary channel has an end connected to the inlet of the spot application section. The analyzing device also includes a holding chamber connected to another end of the supplying capillary channel and having a thickness sized to generate a capillary force to move the sample liquid. The holding chamber is formed between a first side wall and a second side wall. The first side wall and the second side wall define the holding chamber.

Devices, systems, and methods for detecting substances
A microfluidic device for the detection of drugs, explosives, chemical warfare, or other substances which is able to directly accept a swab into the device for testing. This device additionally contains on-board reagents to perform colorimetric testing for threshold determination directly in the device. These features are useful in a wide array of situations, such as at security checkpoints, environmental monitoring, clinical analysis, which require testing completely unknown substances and therefore must test for multiple different substances in one test. This is especially useful for police and other law enforcement officials who often must use field-deployable platforms making accurate field-testing critical for safety.
METHOD, SYSTEM, AND FILTRATION UNIT FOR THE ISOLATION OF PARTICLES FROM BIOLOGICAL SAMPLES
A method and an automated liquid handling system for the isolation of particles from a biological sample are provided. A column, a container and a filtration unit which are adapted to be used in such a method and system are provided. The column can include a section comprising a plurality of microbeads retained there.
CARTRIDGE CAPABLE OF CENTRIFUGAL SEPARATION AND AUTOMATIC ANALYSIS
A cartridge capable of a centrifugation and an automatic analysis according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: at least two or more sample wells, a centrifugation well, a measuring well, and a tip receiving well, in which a container is formed into a lower portion along a circumference of a circular plate with a predetermined interval, wherein the centrifugation well is sealed with one lid paper along with at least two or more of the sample wells, a blood injection unit is further formed inside of a radius direction for the centrifugation well, the blood injection unit has an outer blood injection hole formed to be spaced inside the centrifugation well in the radius direction, an inclined passage that communicates with the centrifugation well from the outer blood injection hole, and a cover integrally attached to the outer blood injection hole to open and close the blood injection hole.
Method and apparatus for determining haemoglobin concentration
An apparatus for determining the mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration (MCHC) in a whole blood sample includes a sample holder including an elongate sample chamber having an open end and a closed end. A holding member is adapted to receive and retain the sample holder. The holding member rotates may rotate about an axis of rotation. When the sample holder is received and retained by the holding member the sample chamber is substantially perpendicular to the axis of rotation. First and second light sources are positioned on one side of the sample holder and are configured to emit light in respective different frequencies. At least one light sensor is positioned on a second side of the sample holder, opposite from the first side, so that light from the light source may pass through the sample chamber, in at least one rotational position of the sample holder, and impinge on the light sensor.
