CONTRAST COMPONENT COATING FOR SENSOR ANALYSIS
A contrast device for analysis of a wellbore fluid includes: a substrate; and a contrast agent adhered to the substrate, wherein the contrast agent is configured to respond to an analyte within the wellbore fluid thereby altering a measurable characteristic of the contrast agent. A system including the contrast device may further include an energy source and a detector to facilitate measuring the characteristic of the contrast agent.
OPTICAL SENSOR ELEMENT, OPTICAL OXYGEN SENSOR, AND METHOD FOR MONITORING THE FUNCTION OF AN OPTICAL OXYGEN SENSOR
The present disclosure relates to an optochemical sensor element, comprising: a substrate layer having a first substrate side facing toward a measuring medium and a second substrate side opposite the first substrate side; a functional layer arranged on the first substrate side and is subdivided into functional segments separate from one another, wherein a first functional segment has a second reference dye and a second functional segment has an indicator dye, wherein the second reference dye comprises an organic material and is insensitive to oxygen, and is suitable to emit a second luminescence signal upon stimulation with a first stimulation signal, wherein the indicator dye comprises an organic material and is sensitive to oxygen, and is suitable to emit a third luminescence signal upon stimulation with the first stimulation signal, wherein the substrate layer is transparent to the stimulation signal and to the second and third luminescence signals.
High pressure sensitive color changeable indicators and methods of making such indicators
The present technology includes a color changeable indicator that changes color upon exposure of the indicator to high pressure and comprises at least one reagent releasing layer, a transition layer disposed on the reagent releasing layer, a color changeable layer disposed on the transition layer, and a non-porous protectant encompassing the reagent releasing layer, the transition layer and the color changeable layer. An additional reagent releasing layer can be located between the transition layer and the color changeable layer. The indicators provide simple, reliable, and cost effective detection means for detecting whether a product has been exposed to high pressure, e.g. high pressure pasteurization, and may find use in applications such as food and beverage processing and/or packaging and medical applications.
Connectors for colorimetric sensors
Accordingly, disclosed are various connectors for connecting a colorimetric sensor array to a sample bottle. These connectors allow the colorimetric sensor array to be attached to a sample bottle after autoclaving, and introduce the headspace gas to the colorimetric sensor array at the appropriate time. Examples of these connectors include (1) a needle based connector that punctures the septum of standard bottle to allow gas flow in a chamber with a colorimetric sensor array, (2) a valve based connector that attaches to a sample bottle and when the valve is opened the headspace gas has a path to diffuse to contact a sensor array, and (3) a connector that includes a breakable seal that when broken puts the headspace gas in contact with the colorimetric sensor array.
Fluorescent signal detection apparatus using diagnostic kit
Provided is a fluorescent signal detection apparatus including a reaction unit including a kit loading part in which a diagnostic kit is inserted to one area, a light source unit including a light source and a first barrel configured to surround the light source, a light receiving unit provided at one side of the light source unit and including a detection part and a second barrel configured to surround the detection part, and a case configured to surround the reaction unit, the light source unit, and the light receiving unit. Here, the diagnostic kit includes measuring parts and microstructures configured to accommodate a target to be measured, which is labeled by a fluorescent dye, and the microstructures are provided on the measuring parts.
DETECTION OF VOLATILES
The present invention relates to a sensing composition for detecting a volatile organic compound in its gas phase, comprising 1) a silylated cellulose selected from the group of trialkylsilyl cellulose, triarylsilyl cellulose and alkylarylsilyl cellulose; and 2) a fluorescent dye. The detection of a volatile with this sensing composition comprises placing the sensing composition (optionally present as a layer on a support) in the vicinity of a potential source of a volatile and analyzing the sensing composition to determine whether a volatile of the potential source has reached the sensing composition. This detection can be performed in a quantitative manner by means of spectrophotometric analysis, and/or by image analysis of the sensing composition. The invention is particularly useful for application in high throughput screening.
RECEPTACLE FOR DETECTION OF TARGETED PATHOGENS
A receptacle for detecting a targeted pathogen is provided. The receptacle includes a main body configured to accommodate reagent containing ampoules and a specimen collector, a reservoir provided at a distal end side of the main body, and a support extending through the main body in an extending direction of the receptacle. The support includes an inlet that permits passage of the specimen collector into the main body and an outlet that restrictively permits passage of the specimen collector into and out of the reservoir.
DETERMINING DIAPER LOADING USING COLOR DETECTION OR ACTIVITY STATE
Systems and methods for detecting determining a volume of urine in an absorbent article such as a diaper. A diaper loading application obtains a first measurement of ambient light received from a photodetector while a light source is off and a second measurement from the photodetector while the light source is transmitting light on an absorbent article. The application determines a normalized measurement of light reflected from an absorbent article by removing an ambient light signal from the second measurement based on the first measurement. The application determines, from the normalized measurement, a presence of urine in the absorbent article. The application further determines an estimated volume of urine in the absorbent article, wherein the determining is based on an elapsed time since the presence of urine and an activity state of an infant wearing the absorbent article.
REUSABLE, PORTABLE, WIRELESS BIOSENSOR
The present invention relates to a biosensor device for the determination of analytes, which is non-invasive by means of displaying a colour change, and starting from a sample of liquid. The present invention falls within the field of devices for health, control when playing sports, occupational safety and the food industry.
Mediation of in vivo analyte signal degradation
