System for Indicating Content within a Fluid Container
20210325361 · 2021-10-21 ·

A system for indicating content within a fluid container provides an improved fuel container for mixed fuel, which indicates its contents to a user. The system communicates whether there is oil, gas, a mixture of the two, or nothing inside the container. When the system is filled with gas only, the color of the can will change to, or otherwise remain, a first color. Similarly, oil alone would be indicated by a unique color. When a user combines oil and gas, the system changes to a new color to let the user know that oil is indeed inside the receptacle of the apparatus. Alternatively, the system may provide a nozzle equipped with the same color-indicating capabilities as the fuel receptacle embodiment. For example, when oil is mixed with gas inside the system, the nozzle may turn blue to ensure that a user is aware of the change of contents.

METHOD FOR DEGRADATION-COMPENSATED EVALUATION OF LUMINESCENCE SENSOR DETECTION SIGNALS, AND EVALUATION APPARATUS THEREFOR
20210223176 · 2021-07-22 · ·

A method is provided for degradation-compensated evaluation of detection signals of a sensor arrangement operating on the principle of luminescence quenching, which arrangement has a luminophore that degrades over time, an excitation radiation source, and at least one optical sensor. The luminophore radiates, in accordance with a response characteristic of the sensor arrangement, in reaction to irradiation with a predefined modulated excitation radiation and as a function of the extent of an interaction of the luminophore with a quencher substance that quenches the luminescence of the luminophore. A response radiation is detected by the at least one optical sensor. The sensor arrangement outputs a detected intensity value representing an intensity of the response radiation and a detected phase value representing a phase difference of the response radiation with respect to the modulation of the excitation radiation. A predetermined calibration value correlation is identified in consideration of the reference response characteristic.

Environmental sensor

A sensor has a transparent polymer aerogel, and sensing materials dispersed into the transparent, polymer aerogel, where the sensing materials change color in response to environmental conditions. A method of forming a sensor includes providing a substrate, forming a polymer aerogel layer on the substrate, and infusing the polymer aerogel layer with sensing molecules.

DEVICES AND METHOS FOR DETECTING OR MONITORING THE QUALITY OF FOOD PRODUCTS
20210279857 · 2021-09-09 ·

Described herein are devices for determining or monitoring the quality of a food product. In one aspect, the devices comprise a pH-sensitive film incorporated within a quick response code, wherein the pH-sensitive film is positioned to be in contact with the food product. The pH-sensitive film produces different colors subject to changes in pH of the food product. The color produced by the pH-sensitive film can then be correlated to the quality of the food product. The quick response code can provide additional information regarding the food product.

Device for Providing Food Advertisement Based on Food Flavor Through Color Combination and Method Thereof

A device for providing a food advertisement based on food flavors to market a food product, including a carrier and a plurality of color patches provided on the carrier and combined into a color pattern. The color patches are generated according to a colorimetric sensor array sensing the food product, and the colorimetric sensor array includes a plurality of sensing materials for sensing the food product. The sensing materials respectively react with at least one metabolic molecule of the food to change from an initial color to an indication color corresponding to the color patches respectively, so that the color pattern is visually associated with flavor information of the food product correspondingly.
