Method, apparatus and system for detecting and determining comprised reagent pads by quantifying color changes induced by exposure to a hostile environment
A reagent test paddle includes a contamination detection medium, a reference color bar, at least one chemical test medium, and a unique identifier. The contamination detection medium includes a reagent that changes color in the presence or when exposed to a hostile or inhospitable environment. Each chemical test medium includes a regent that is responsive to a respective analyte in a biological sample. The reference color bar includes reference color samples of different colors. The unique identifier, like a serial number, identifies the particular paddle and its chemical test medium so it can be uniquely and anonymously associated with a user. A method includes capturing and interpreting digital images of a biologically unexposed and subsequently exposed reagent test paddle at various delay times within an automatically calibrated environment; locating the paddle in a plurality of digital images, extracting the reference color bar and locating the contamination detection medium and chemical test medium in each digital image. Color changes of the chemical test medium and contamination medium are detected at various delay times after sample exposure. To determine validity of test results, the method further compares the detected colors of the contamination detection medium with predetermined colors expected for no contamination and contamination.

Wearable device for testing biological information of user and testing system having the same
A wearable device includes a testing portion, the testing portion includes receiving space, a bottom surface defining an opening, an opposite top surface, and a first side surface defining a slot. A white light source is received in the receiving space. A wearable portion of the device is secured to the testing portion and the wearable portion can be placed around a terminal device comprising a camera. The opening faces the camera when the wearable portion is around the terminal device, allowing the camera to capture a standard image of the white light, and capture a wet image of a test paper imbued with user bio-matter when the test paper is inserted into the slot. A biological information of the user, as an indicator of health, is calculated according to a color comparison between the wet image and the standard image.

The present invention provides a system for analyzing a sample liquid comprising a test tape having a plurality of test elements, a tape transport device which successively transports the test elements to a sample application site while advancing the tape, and a measuring device which scans the test elements loaded with sample liquid at a measuring site. The measuring site is located at a distance from the sample application site in the direction of tape movement. The tape transport is interrupted in order to exactly position a wetted area of the test elements carrying a sample liquid at the measuring site by means of a positioning device that responds to the presence of sample liquid on the test element.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR PERFORMING AN ANALYTICAL MEASUREMENT
A method of evaluating the suitability of a mobile device for performing an analytical measurement based on a color formation reaction. The capability of the mobile device to have relevant settings of the mobile device controlled by software running on the mobile device is evaluated. The relevant settings pertain to image raw data processing steps to be carried out by the mobile device and may include a color space transformation and a tone mapping transformation. When the evaluation indicates that the mobile device is capable of having the relevant settings controlled by the software, control information indicating that the mobile device is suitable for performing the analytical measurement is provided. When the evaluation indicates that the mobile device is not capable of having the relevant settings controlled by the software, control information indicating that the mobile device is unsuitable for performing the analytical measurement is provided.

REAGENT TEST STRIPS COMPRISING REFERENCE REGIONS FOR MEASUREMENT WITH COLORIMETRIC TEST PLATFORM
Disclosed is a reagent strip comprising test region(s) and reference region(s). The reference region(s) display a predetermined response to a range of possible concentrations of an analyte applied to the corresponding test region(s). Furthermore, the reference region(s) and the test region(s) are arranged on the reagent strip so as to facilitate analysis of a qualitative state of the analyte and optionally, calculation of a quantitative value of the analyte at point-of-collection. Also disclosed is a method of manufacturing such reagent strips, first involving printing the reference region(s) and the test region(s) in a continuous and alternating series on a test strip precursor substrate. The method also involves cutting the test strip precursor substrate perpendicularly to the printed columns to obtain one or more reagent strips. Also disclosed is a method encompassed in a mobile application for determining a qualitative state and optionally calculating a quantitative state of the analyte.
