OPTICAL SPECTRA RECONSTRUCTION BASED ON OPTICAL MEASUREMENTS OF DOWNHOLE FLUIDS
Systems and methods are provided for determining the wideband spectrum of downhole fluids based on downhole optical measurements. In some aspects, a plurality of optical data measurements associated with a subsurface fluid can be obtained from a subsurface optical measurement device. In some cases, a comparison can be made between the plurality of optical data measurements associated with the subsurface fluid and one or more sets of optical data stored in an optical data library. In some examples, the one or more sets of optical data can correspond to a plurality of different fluid samples. In some instances, a first fluid sample from the plurality of fluid samples that corresponds to at least a portion of the subsurface fluid can be identified based on the comparison. In some aspects, an absorbance spectrum of the subsurface fluid can be determined based on the first fluid sample.
Graded Bioprocess Monitoring
Combining through self-modulation a flow of active media from a working vessel of a bioprocess together with a flow of reference media and making a time- and/or spatially-resolved referenced optical measurement of the active vs reference media in a confined flow region and time, such that the two liquids are measured in substantially identical conditions.
IMAGING APPARATUS AND METHODS
An apparatus for determining the values of one or more characteristics of a liquid that has support means for supporting a filter member in use, a reservoir for holding a sample of liquid in direct or indirect contact with the filter member in use and at least one device operable to record one or more images of the filter member and/or liquid to record the value of one or more characteristics of a liquid moving through the filter member in use.
ADAPTIVE DETECTION OF ABNORMAL CHANNELS FOR SUBSURFACE OPTICAL MEASUREMENTS
Light from a light source that has interacted with a sample of downhole fluid provided in a downhole optical tool is sequentially passed through a plurality of groups of light filters, each of the groups of light filters including of one or more light filters, to generate a data set for each of the groups of light filters, also referred to as a simultaneous channel group. The data generated for each of the simultaneous channel groups is then analyzed to determine if the data from that simultaneous channel groups is effective in providing information useful for the analysis of the sample of downhole fluid.
Inline water contaminant detector and filter
An affordable, low-power, low-profile water contamination detection and/or filtration device that can be installed directly onto a home faucet or other water line. The contamination detection part uses photometric and other sensors to collect data pertaining to levels of Total Organic Carbon, Total Dissolved Solids, heavy metals, turbidity, harmful bacteria, and other contaminants. The device uses efficient circuit design so that parts of the sensor, LED, and calculation circuit are only activated when the faucet is turned on and water fills a measurement chamber. The filtration part of the device can be switched on and off using simple twist interface, such that filtered water can flow directly into the contamination detection part for testing.
Inline water contaminant detector
A device installable into a tap to detect the presence of one or more types of contaminants in the tap water. When the tap is operated, a sample chamber fills with the tap water, such that one or more electronic receivers are capable of detecting the presence of contaminants. Preferably, at least one of the one or more electronic receivers is a photometric sensor for detecting absorption of ultraviolet (UV) light in the 250 nm to 300 nm range. A UV254 LED can be activated when water fills the sample chamber, and a measurement circuit calculates Total Organic Carbon (TOC) by correlation with UV254 absorbance. The device can transmit contamination data, including, but not limited to TOC levels, to a remote apparatus for remote monitoring of the tap water.

According to an aspect of the present inventive concept there is provided a probe for analysis of a liquid in a mixture of the liquid and solid substance. The probe comprises: a tube comprising a sample end configured to be inserted into the mixture; a cap configured to come into contact with the mixture at the sample end, the cap comprising one or more openings configured for allowing passage of the liquid therethrough, and for preventing passage of the solid substance therethrough; and an optical measurement head arranged in the tube and configured to come into contact with the liquid having passed the one or more openings, wherein the optical measurement head is configured to collect measurement information for analysis of the liquid.
ANALYZER FOR AUTOMATICALLY DETECTING AND QUANTIFYING GLUTARALDEHYDE IN BIOCIDE PRODUCTS
An analyzer is disclosed for detecting and quantifying a glutaraldehyde (GLUT) composition in a water sample. The analyzer includes a peristaltic pump and a three-way valve, where the pump draws in a water sample comprising a GLUT composition through the 3-way valve. The analyzer also includes a 6-way valve that receives the water sample and a bovine serum albumin-coated gold (Au-BSA) nanoclusters reagent. The analyzer also includes: a debubbler that receive a mixture of the water sample and the reagent and removes bubbles from the mixture; and a reaction coil that receives the water sample and the reagent from the debubbler, such that they are reacted. The analyzer further includes a fluorescence flow cell that receives the reacted mixture; measures a fluorescence intensity of the Au-BSA nanoclusters in the mixture; and determines a concentration of the GLUT composition in the water sample based on the fluorescence intensity.
