Wireless automated shutoff valve

A modular water leakage detector includes a housing that carries a plurality of water leakage sensors, an electrical water shutoff valve, and circuitry coupled thereto. In response to sensing water leakage, the circuitry actuates the valve to shut off a water supply. Detectors can communicate alarm indicating signals directly with one another. The detectors can include a wireless transmitter and communicate with a displaced alarm monitoring system.

The invention is applicable to the dosing of detergent for electric washing equipments.

Methods and systems for acid regeneration of ion exchange resins are disclosed. Acid resins designed for use in a variety of cleaning application using a water source use a treated, softened, acidic water source according to the invention. Various methods of using the softened acidic water generated by acid regenerate-able ion exchange resins are disclosed to beneficially reduce spotting, filming and scale buildup on treated surfaces, reduce and/or eliminate the need for polymers, threshold reagents and/or rinse aids, and using protons generated in the acidic water effluent for triggering events useful in various cleaning applications.

A spray arm for a dishwasher includes an outlet nozzle which is provided on a bottom side of the spray arm for emptying washing liquor from the spray arm. The outlet nozzle is selectively closed and opened by a valve which is movable from an open position into a closed position in response to a pressure of the washing liquor. The valve is pretensioned in a direction to seek the open position so that the valve automatically opens when the pressure of the washing liquor drops below a predetermined value.

The dishwasher configured to receive water from a water source of a dwelling via an external supply line, which includes a valve for directing water between the tub and a water reservoir. Water received into the reservoir will be cooler than the water utilized in the tub to wash dishes. A water pump is connected to the reservoir so that during the drying cycle, the relatively cool water of the reservoir can be pumped through one or more conduits that are in contact with various surfaces of the tub so as to cool the tub interior and cause moisture contained therein to condense and drain out of the tub thereby efficiently enhancing the drying performance of the dishwasher.

A dishwasher appliance includes a tub defining a wash chamber and a wash conduit disposed in the wash chamber on a rear wall of the tub. A third rack assembly is slidably positioned in the wash chamber above a second rack assembly with a third spray assembly positioned within the third rack assembly. The third spray assembly is configured to direct wash fluid at articles located in the third rack assembly. The third spray assembly includes an inlet nozzle at one end. The inlet nozzle is offset from the wash conduit outlet in the lateral direction. A portion of the wash conduit extends along the vertical direction between the second and third rack assemblies.
