A tray is selectively insertable through a slot in the housing so that the tray is in fluidic communication with the chamber. The tray holds detergent selectively delivers an effective amount of the detergent to the chamber to generate a cleaning solution. A plurality of spray arms is positioned in the wash compartment. An article is positionable over a respective spray arm. A heater selectively heats the cleaning solution and a pump selectively pumps the cleaning solution and water through the respective spray arm to clean and to rinse the article, respectively.

A check valve assembly for a drain pump configured to transfer fluid from a sump, through a volute having a pump discharge passageway extending from the volute, includes a seat assembly and a flapper assembly. The seat assembly has a body with a first distal end and a second distal end, and a fluid passage extending through the body. The body defines a valve seat having a sealing surface about the fluid passage. The flapper assembly is operably coupled to the seat assembly. The flapper assembly has a moveable portion configured to selectively move between a closed position where the moveable portion seals against the sealing surface and an opened position where the moveable portion raises to allow liquid through the fluid passage. The check valve assembly is configured to be located within the pump discharge passageway.

A tray support is mounted for movement relative to the rack track between a lowered position and a raised position, in the lowered position the tray support is at or below a rack support plane defined by the rack track, in the raised position at least part of the tray support is located above the rack support plane. The rack track may be a wire or rod form frame configuration with the tray support mounted thereto.

A dishwasher water channel, which is integrated in a base of a dishwasher, is disclosed. The dishwasher water channel has a water distribution chamber, a flow guidance channel, and a spray arm. The flow guidance channel has one end communicating with the water distribution chamber and the other end communicating with the spray arm. The flow guidance channel extends from an outer wall of the water distribution chamber toward a rear end of the base and communicates with the spray arm at the rear end of the base. A spray arm seat is provided between the spray arm and the flow guidance channel and penetrates the base. The spray arm is connected to a top of the spray arm seat and located above the base to spray water out of the spray arm seat, and the flow guidance channel is connected to a bottom of the spray arm seat and located below the base.

A dishwasher has a housing (10) with a wash chamber (20) and a top wall (204) with a non-planar surface (214;214″) facing downwardly into the wash chamber, the surface having portions (216,218; 226,228) facing downwardly and facing in different horizontal directions (H1,H2; HX,HY,HP,HQ). Nozzles (402) mounted within the wash chamber spray a liquid upwardly within the wash chamber. The surface portions redistribute the upwardly-sprayed water in horizontal directions to provide a more uniform washing action. A portable dishwasher may have a fresh water reservoir (422) and a used water reservoir (430) mounted in the housing beneath the wash chamber. The used water reservoir may be removably mounted in the housing so that the user can remove used wash water by removing the used water reservoir. The portable dishwasher can be used at a location remote from a sink.

The disclosure provides for a drain system for an appliance. The drain system can include a Y-hose having a flexible end coupled to a supply of water from tub, a recirculating end, and a drain end, a recirculating valve coupled with the recirculating end, a drain valve spaced from the recirculating valve and coupled with the drain end, and wherein the recirculating end and the drain end are connected via a continuous connecting wall.
