THERMOPLASTIC FILMS AND BAGS WITH COLOR CHANGING INDICATORS AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
The present disclosure relates to a thermoplastic film that includes a layer of thermoplastic material and a color indicator applied to the thermoplastic material. The color indicator can be configured to change color in response to a trigger. For example, the color indicator can change color (e.g., change from a first color to a second color) in response to a color change trigger, such as exposure to malodor particles, absorption of moisture, a length of time, or as a result of oxidation. In one or more embodiments, the thermoplastic film further includes an odor control component configured to mask, neutralize, or otherwise control malodors. The color indicator can change its color appearance as the odor control component performs to control any present malodors, thus signaling the performance of the odor control component.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING CONCENTRATION OF COMPOUND IN ULTRAPURE WATER
A method for determining the concentration of a compound in ultrapure water is provided. The method includes dividing the ultrapure water into a first part and a second part and decomposing the compound in the first part, so that the first part includes a characteristic substance. The method also includes measuring a first concentration of the characteristic substance in the first part and a second concentration of the characteristic substance in the second part and calculating the difference between the first concentration and the second concentration. The method further includes obtaining the concentration of the compound in the ultrapure water based on the difference.
DISSOLVED OXYGEN MEASUREMENT
An embodiment provides a method for measuring dissolved oxygen of an aqueous sample, including: introducing an aqueous sample into a measurement device comprising at least two dissolved oxygen sensors, wherein at least one of the at least two dissolved sensors comprises a trend sensor and at least another of the at least two dissolved sensors comprises a reference sensor; measuring a first value of dissolved oxygen using the trend sensor, wherein the trend sensor samples at a trend frequency; measuring a second value of dissolved oxygen from a reference sensor, wherein the reference sensor samples at a reference frequency, the reference frequency being less than the trend frequency; and correcting the first value of dissolved oxygen based upon the second value of dissolved oxygen. Other aspects are described and claimed.
OXYGEN DETECTING COMPOSITION AND OXYGEN DETECTING BODY
To provide: a composition for oxygen detection, which has excellent oxygen detection characteristic (ability), and which is safer than conventional compositions for oxygen detection, thereby being able to be sealed in packages containing food, pharmaceutical products or the like without anxiety; and an oxygen detector onto which this composition for oxygen detection is applied or printed. This composition for oxygen detection contains a redox dye, a food dye, a reducing sugar, an edible reduction promoter and an edible humectant in the composition, and enables quick detection of the presence or absence of oxygen by means of color change. Since this composition for oxygen detection is composed only of food, a pharmaceutical product and edible components allowed to be used for the food or pharmaceutical product, this composition for oxygen detection is safe to the human body.
Nanoporous Matrix and Use Thereof
The invention relates to a nanoporous polyalkoxysilane sol-gel matrix and to a process for producing such a nanoporous polyalkoxysilane sol-gel matrix containing indigo carmine, wherein said process comprises the following steps: a) synthesizing a gel from tetramethoxysilane or from a mixture of tetramethoxysilane and another organosilicon precursor chosen from phenyltrimethoxysilane, phenyltriethoxysilane, a fluoroalkyltrimethoxysilane, a fluoroalkyltriethoxysilane, a chloroalkylmethoxysilane, a chloroalkylethoxysilane, an aminopropyltriethoxysilane and mixtures thereof, the synthesis being carried out in an aqueous medium in the presence of a polar organic solvent and of the indigo carmine at a temperature ranging from 20 to 70 C., b) drying the gel obtained in step a) so as to obtain a nanoporous polyalkoxysilane sol-gel matrix containing indigo carmine.
FLUORESCENT OXYGEN SENSING INK
A fluorescent oxygen sensing ink includes at least one organic solvent, at least one polymer binder disposed in the organic solvent, and an oxygen-sensitive fluorescent dye disposed in the organic solvent. The oxygen-sensitive fluorescent dye and the at least one polymer can interact to form a moisture-resistant film. The fluorescent oxygen sensing ink can be incorporated into an oxygen sensing wound dressing.
Deuterated compounds and uses thereof
An anthraquinone compound of formula I (such as the compounds of formulae II to X) and processes for making the same are provided. Pharmaceutical compositions for use in the treatment of cancer, optionally in combination with an agent capable of reducing the level of oxygenation of a tumor, are also provided. Additionally, an option for combination with chemotherapeutic and radiotherapeutic modalities to enhance overall tumor cell kill is provided. Methods for the detection of cellular hypoxia, both in vivo and in vitro, are additionally provided. ##STR00001##
DISPLAY MEDIUM
To provide a display medium that is discolored in a state of being exposed in the presence of oxygen. This display medium has a discoloration layer on a substrate, the discoloration layer being formed with a redox dye, a food dye, a reducing sugar, an edible reduction promoter, an edible moisturizer, and an oxygen detection composition that contains an edible thickener. The oxygen detection composition that forms the discoloration layer is reversibly discolored in accordance with the presence of oxygen, so that the discoloration layer changes color upon transition from an oxygen-free state to an oxygen-present state. Therefore, when the discoloration layer is formed with a letter, a drawing pattern, a symbol or the like, information relating to a commodity constituted by the letter, drawing pattern, symbol or the like is highlighted by discoloration.
LAYERS FOR THE DETECTION OF OXYGEN
Described is an oxygen permeable layer for detection of molecular oxygen, wherein the layer has a carrier material in which at least one particle is comprised, wherein the carrier material is polyvinylidene fluoride or a copolymer of polyvinylidene fluoride, and the particle comprises a polymer or a copolymer, wherein the polymer or copolymer of the particle has a chemically covalently bonded indicator compound for detection of molecular oxygen. In addition, a multilayer system for detection of molecular oxygen is described. Also described are a method for producing the layer, and the use of the layer or of the multilayer system for detection of molecular oxygen.
SENSOR ELEMENT FOR AN OPTOCHEMICAL SENSOR
A sensor element for an optochemical sensor includes: a luminescence indicator, whose luminescence can be quenched with oxygen; and scavenger units to deactivate singlet oxygen, forming a chemical reaction product by reacting with singlet oxygen, wherein the scavenger units are selected to be recovered by a decomposition reaction induced thermally, photochemically or by a pressure increase of the chemical reaction product formed by the reaction with singlet oxygen.
