METHOD OF USING MULTI-WELL TRAY
System, apparatuses, and methods for performing automated reagent-based analysis are provided. Also provided are methods for automated attachment of a cap to a reaction receptacle, and automated removal of a cap from a capped reaction receptacle.
Automatic analyzer
The invention provides an automatic analyzer capable of closing a lid of a container containing a reagent or a specimen without wearing an upper surface of the lid even when the lid fails to close. The automatic analyzer includes a container accommodation portion that has a lid openable and closable by a rotation fulcrum and accommodates a container containing a reagent or a specimen, and a lid closing guide portion that closes the lid by moving relative to the container accommodation portion, wherein the lid closing guide portion is in contact with an edge of the lid to close the lid.
Fluid cartridge
System, apparatuses, and methods for performing automated reagent-based analysis are provided. Also provided are methods for automated attachment of a cap to a reaction receptacle, and automated removal of a cap from a capped reaction receptacle.
Automatic analyzer
According to one embodiment, an automatic analyzer includes a reaction disc, cleaning mechanism, and cover. The reaction disc holds a cuvette which contains a sample and a reagent. The cleaning mechanism is configured to clean the cuvette using a nozzle. The cover is configured to be movable along an axis of the nozzle and to cover an opening of the cuvette.
REAGENT WELL HAVING A RETENTION FEATURE FOR RETAINING A LYOPHILIZED REAGENT
An article for performing a reaction includes a reagent well having a side wall, a bottom wall and an open upper end. A lyophilized reagent is retained within the well by a non-integral retention feature that is inserted into the open upper end of the well and fixed to a side wall above the reagent. An opening in the retention feature is smaller than the diameter of the reagent, but is sized to permit a pipette tip to be inserted into the well. The retention feature may be a collar fixed to the side wall and may include fingers extending axially into the well. The well and the retention feature may be correspondingly tapered. A method for reconstituting a lyophilized reagent includes the steps of drawing into a pipette tip attached to an automated pipettor an amount of a diluent and dispensing the diluent into the reagent well to thereby reconstitute the lyophilized reagent.
EVAPORATION PREVENTION MECHANISM, SPECIMEN STORAGE MECHANISM, AND SPECIMEN STORAGE AND TRANSPORT DEVICE
Provided is an evaporation prevention mechanism that prevents evaporation during specimen storage without causing carry-over. An evaporation prevention mechanism 12 that accommodates a cylindrical specimen tube 3accommodating a specimen includes: a cylindrical storage holder 101 that connects an upper opening and a lower opening; a lid 104 that covers the upper opening; a seal member 102 attached to the lower opening; and a bottom receiving member 103b. The specimen tube is inserted into the storage holder from the upper opening, the seal member is in close contact with a side surface of the specimen tube, a bottom portion of the specimen tube is in contact with the bottom receiving member, and the specimen tube is accommodated in a state in which an upper end of the specimen tube is not in contact with the lid.
Multi-well tray
System, apparatuses, and methods for performing automated reagent-based analysis are provided. Also provided are methods for automated attachment of a cap to a reaction receptacle, and automated removal of a cap from a capped reaction receptacle.
Microplate reader with lid lifter for microplates
Microplate reader has a housing, at least one optical measuring/detection device, a microplate support, a moving unit and an integrated lid holding apparatus. The lid holding apparatus moves the microplate in one respective, at least approximately vertical direction for moving the microplate lid away from the microplate. The lid holding apparatus is arranged inside the housing as a magnetic lifter and comprises a non-array arrangement of at least one permanent magnet, or at least three electro magnets, or at least one switchable permanent magnet. Each microplate lid to be moved away from the microplate comprises magnetizable material with a physical area. A projected area of the at least one permanent magnet, electro magnet, or switchable permanent magnet is smaller than the physical area of the magnetizable material of the microplate lid.
Automated analyzer with cover detection
Disclosed is an analyzer comprising: a liquid container mounting section in which a liquid container are set; a container mounting section in which at least one tip container accommodating a plurality of pipette tips is set; a cover detecting section that detects a presence of a cover mounted on the tip container; a dispensing section that equips a pipette tip accommodated in the tip container and dispenses a quantity of liquid from the liquid container to a reaction container via the equipped pipette tip; a detecting section that interrogate a property of the liquid; and a controller programmed to prohibit a process of equipping the pipette tip by the dispensing section when the cover on the tip container is detected, and permits the process when no cover is detected.
Automatic analysis system
There is provided an automatic analysis system that dispenses samples and reagents into a plurality of reaction vessels to cause reaction and to measure the liquid resulting from the reaction. The system implements a method of handling capped sample containers such as vacuum blood collection tubes along transfer routes. A sample container opening/closing mechanism is provided which removes the caps of the sample containers prior to sample dispensing and which closes the sample containers following sample dispensing using the same corresponding caps as before the dispensing. Also provided is an opening/closing mechanism that retains and manages the caps removed from the sample containers, as well as a transport unit capable of selecting one of the transport routes which fits the identified sample containers so as to close them with the fit caps. This invention thus provides a container opening/closing system that improves throughput of the sample collection process in conjunction with the automatic analysis system performing the sample container opening/closing process.
