Reagent cartridges and related systems and methods are disclosed. In accordance with an implementation, an apparatus includes a first flexible container, a second flexible container, and a coupling. The first flexible container has an end and defines a first interior containing reagent. The second flexible container has an end and defines a second interior. The first flexible container is positioned within the second interior. The coupling has a first portion coupled to the end of the first flexible container and a second portion coupled to the end of the second flexible container. The coupling has a reagent port fluidly coupled to the first interior of the first flexible container and a pressure port fluidly coupled to the second interior of the second flexible container.
INSTRUMENT FOR CASSETTE FOR SAMPLE PREPARATION
A parallel processing system for processing samples is described. In one embodiment, the parallel processing system includes an instrument interface parallel controller to control a tray motor driving system, a close-loop heater control and direction system, a magnetic particle transfer system, a reagent release system, a reagent pre-mix pumping system and a wash buffer pumping system.
Multi-channel optical measurement instrument
A receptacle having a plurality of interconnected chambers arranged to permit multiple process steps or processes to be performed independently or simultaneously. The receptacles are manufactured to separate liquid from dried reagents and to maintain the stability of the dried reagents. An immiscible liquid, such as an oil, is included to control loading of process materials, facilitate mixing and reconstitution of dried reagents, limit evaporation, control heating of reaction materials, concentrate solid support materials to prevent clogging of fluid connections, provide minimum volumes for fluid transfers, and to prevent process materials from sticking to chamber surfaces. The receptacles can be adapted for use in systems having a processing instrument that includes an actuator system for selectively moving fluid substances between chambers and a detector. The actuator system can be arranged to concentrate an analyte present in a sample. The detector can be used to detect an optical signal emitted by the contents of the receptacle.

PARTICLE DISPERSION DEVICE AND PARTICLE DISPERSION METHOD
A particle dispersion method for dispersing particles (500) fixed on the inner surface of a container (12) into a liquid. The particle dispersion method includes a discharge step of discharging a liquid into the container (12). The container (12) has a cylindrical main body part (310), and an inclined part (311) having an inner diameter that decreases from the main body part (310) side to the bottom part side and having a constant angle relative to the central axis of the container. In the discharge step, the liquid is discharged from above the inclined part (311) toward the inclined part (311) on the side opposite the particles (500) fixed to the inner surface of the container (12) across the central axis (300) of the container (12).
AUTOMATED ANALYZER
A control section causes one dispensing mechanism of either a reagent dispensing mechanism or a sample dispensing mechanism to first discharge a predetermined amount of a liquid into the reaction container, and then, with respect to the cases where the amount of a liquid to be discharged by the other dispensing mechanism is larger or smaller than the amount of the liquid in the reaction container, causes the other dispensing mechanism to discharge the liquid such that the discharge speed in the case where the amount of the liquid to be discharged is larger is decreased relative to the discharge speed in the case where the amount of the liquid to be discharged is smaller.

Contactless mixing using modulated air jets
Disclosed is a device for contactlessly mixing fluid present on the upper surface of the slide, where the device comprises a first nozzle array and a second nozzle array, the first nozzle array adapted to impart a bulk fluid flow to the fluid present on the upper surface of the slide, and the second nozzle array adapted to impart at least a first regional fluid flow to at least a portion of the fluid present on the upper surface of the slide.
AUTOMATIC ANALYSIS DEVICE AND AUTOMATIC ANALYSIS METHOD
The automatic analysis device 100 is provided with: a specimen dispensing mechanism 101 that dispenses subject blood plasma and/or normal blood plasma to be added to correct the coagulation time of the subject blood plasma, into a plurality of specimen containers 103; reaction containers 104 that contain the subject blood plasma and/or the normal blood plasma; a reagent dispensing mechanism 106 that dispenses a reagent into the reaction containers 104; and a detecting unit 113 which applies light from a light source 115 to the subject blood plasma and/or the normal blood plasma to which the reagent is added in the reaction containers 104, and which measures the coagulation time on the basis of the obtained scattered light and/or transmitted light.
