An automatic assaying system having a multiplex pipette cartridge section in which pipette cartridges are docked. At least one pipette cartridge has a different pipetting characteristic from another corresponding pipette cartridge, the different pipetting characteristic being selectable from a number of different pipetting characteristics. A multiplexing work item holder has an array of work item holder docks that dock corresponding work item holders selectable from pipette trays and pipette tip set racks that define the selectable different pipetting characteristic. One or more of the work item holder docks are indexed to selectably multiplex both the different interchangeable pipette trays and the at least one pipette set rack. A carrier moves the pipette cartridge or a work item holder carriage and a controller selects the at least one pipette tip set rack corresponding to a work item holder dock so as to effect automatic selection of the different pipetting characteristic.

AUTOMATED ANALYZER, AUTOMATIC ANALYSIS SYSTEM, AND AUTOMATIC SAMPLE ANALYSIS METHOD

An analysis unit 111 for automatically analyzing a sample comprises a sample dispensing nozzle 2 for dispensing the sample and an electrolyte measurement unit 114 for carrying out internal standard liquid measurement one or more times at least before measuring the electric potential of the sample. If the electrolyte measurement unit 114 is to carry out the electric potential measurement of the sample in succession, a different internal standard liquid measurement operation is carried out before the electric potential measurement than if the electric potential measurement is not to be carried out in succession and there are to be gaps between measurement intervals. This results in the provision of an automated analyzer, automatic analysis system, and automatic sample analysis method that make it possible to reduce the influence of ambient temperature on electrolyte measurement, ensure measurement accuracy, and enhance overall device processing capacity.

Provided is an analysis apparatus having a control part having a preparatory action setting part for determination of whether the first and second controls are performed or the third and fourth controls are performed. The first control sets a sleep-planned part to a sleep state at a first time point when the state of non-use of the analysis apparatus has lasted for a predetermined time length, and then causes performance of a preparatory action by a first predetermined part; the second control resumes the operation of the analysis apparatus when a command signal to resume the operation is received; the third control places a sleep-planned part in a sleep state at a second time point when the state of non-use has lasted for a time length; and the fourth control causes a preparatory action of a second predetermined part to resume operation.

There is provided a technique that can efficiently control disposal and use of containers of an automatic analyzer. An automatic analyzer includes a controller, a container retaining mechanism (incubator), a dispensing mechanism, a detection mechanism, and a transfer mechanism. The dispensing mechanism includes a liquid surface detection mechanism. The controller uses the dispensing mechanism at a prescribed timing to detect the presence or absence of the liquid surface at a target position on the container retaining mechanism to determine a state including the presence or absence of the container accommodating a reaction solution. The controller performs control in which the operation of disposal using the transfer mechanism is performed at a position when a state is determined in which the container is present, and the operation of disposal using the transfer mechanism is not performed at the position when a state is determined in which the container is not present.

AUTOMATIC ANALYSIS DEVICE

There is provided an automatic analysis device with a structure in which a measurement unit is less susceptible to disturbance as compared to a device in the related art, and a method of designing the automatic analysis device. A first rotation axis 301 of a reaction disk 1, a second rotation axis 302 of a reagent disk 9, and a measurement unit are arranged on the same straight line 311 when an automatic analysis device 100 is viewed from an upper surface side, the first rotation axis 301 of the reaction disk 1 is arranged between the second rotation axis 302 of the reagent disk 9 and the measurement unit, and the measurement unit is arranged on a front side to be accessed by a user of the automatic analysis device 100.
