Slide rack carousel
A digital slide scanning apparatus slide rack carousel allows continuous loading and unloading of slide racks into the carousel while the digital slide scanning apparatus is simultaneously digitizing glass slides. The slide rack carousel includes a base having an interior portion of its upper surface at an angle. The slide rack carousel also includes plural rack spacers extending upward from the base and adjacent rack spacers define a rack slot. Each rack spacer also includes a rack stopper on each side such that adjacent rack spacers have rack stoppers facing each other. The rack stoppers prevent a slide rack from moving further toward the center of the carousel than desired.
RECEPTACLE TRANSPORT CARRIERS
A sample receptacle transporting carrier includes a base defining a recess for receiving a bottom end of the sample receptacle. The carrier also includes a plurality of resilient wire fingers affixed to and extending upward from the annular support. The fingers are configured to retain the bottom end of the sample receptacle within the recess of the base and to maintain the sample receptacle in an upright orientation. Each of the wire fingers includes a first segment adjacent to the base, a linear second segment joined to the first segment by a first angled portion, and a linear third segment joined to the second linear segment by a second angled portion. The third segment of each finger is configured to contact the bottom end of the receptacle as the receptacle is inserted into the carrier. The third segment and the vertical axis of the carrier form an angle between about 40 and about 50.
AUTOMATIC MULTIPLE SAMPLE PREPARATION SYSTEM OF FUSED BEADS FOR XRF ANALYSIS
An automatic multiple sample preparation system of fused beads for XRF analysis from powder samples with a thermogravimetric analyzer type of instrument with automatic sample dosing, automatic flux dosing, fusion furnace, a movable platform, to hold the dosed sample platinum crucibles an external balance for dosing, a gantry type device to transport sample dosing device and vacuum pick up device to move fused beads from beads carousel to tray on XRF instrument for analysis. To transmit from thermogravimetric fusion system, relevant fusion data to the XRF instrument
Loading device for loading a reagent rotor of an analytical instrument with reagent vessels and analytical instrument
A loading device for loading a reagent rotor of an analytical instrument with reagent vessels is disclosed. The loading device comprises a tray to receive reagent vessels. The tray moves within a first plane at least between a loading position, at which the tray is loadable with the reagent vessels, and an unloading position, at which the reagent vessels are unloadable from the tray. The loading device also comprises a transporting device for transporting the reagent vessels from the tray to the reagent rotor of the analytical instrument. The tray is formed such that the transporting device is linearly moveable within a second plane from the unloading position of the tray to the reagent rotor and/or from the reagent rotor to the unloading position of the tray. The first plane and the second plane are different from one another. The tray is formed as a circular ring segment.
CONTAINER FOR RECEIVING VESSELS FOR USE IN AN AUTOMATED ANALYZER
A container for receiving vessels for use in an automated analyzer is presented. The container comprises a wall assembly including a first wall and a second wall. The wall assembly forms a receptacle for receiving a vessel having one or more covers or lids. At least one of the first and second walls moves to provide a first open configuration for receiving the vessel and a second closed configuration. The container further comprises an actuator configured to translate the vessel from a first position after being received in the container to a second position and the wall assembly in the second closed configuration is positioned so that at least one engaging element attached to the wall assembly engages with the covers or lids of the vessel to open the covers or lids while the vessel is being translated by the actuator from the first position to the second position.
INSTRUMENT TURNTABLE AND METHOD FOR USE
An instrument turntable is presented which allows an instrument to be installed into an automated system, yet that will still allow an operator to use the instrument manually, even while the automated system is running, without ever removing the instrument from the automated system.
Method for monitoring sliding contacts
A measuring system for measuring a sample in an automated analysis machine comprises a measuring device for recording measurement values of a measured variable and a first controller and a second controller for processing the measurement values and a sliding contact system with sliding contacts, wherein the measurement values are transferred from the measuring device to the first controller and wherein the measurement values are transferred from the first controller to the second controller via the sliding contacts. The measuring system comprises an error counter which captures the errors occurring during the transfer of the measurement values from the first controller to the second controller via the sliding contacts.
Automated Analyzer
Please substitute the new Abstract submitted herewith for the original Abstract: The present invention reduces the turnaround time of an automated analyzer. During a period when cyclic measurement by a measurement unit is unnecessary, a controller washes a reaction vessel using a washing cycle having a cycle time shorter than that of an analysis cycle. A single analysis cycle and a single washing cycle both include a reaction disc stopping period and rotation period. In the washing cycle, there is no time during the stopping period when a sample dispensing mechanism, reagent dispensing mechanism, or stirring mechanism operates but there is a time when a washing mechanism operates. The washing cycle stopping period is shorter than the analysis cycle stopping period. The amount of rotation of the reaction disk in the analysis cycle rotation period is the same as the amount of rotation of the reaction disk in the washing cycle rotation period.
Automated Analysis Device
This automated analysis device is provided with a plurality of analysis units for analyzing a specimen, a buffer portion which holds a plurality of specimen racks on which are placed specimen containers holding the specimen, a sampler portion which conveys the specimen racks held in the buffer portion to the analysis units, and a control portion which, when performing a process to deliver the specimen racks to the plurality of analysis units, outputs synchronization signals to all the plurality of analysis units, wherein the analysis unit performs a delivery process starting from the synchronization signal, and the analysis unit performs a delivery process starting from the synchronization signal.
