Analysis device and positioning method
An analysis device employs an analysis kit including a chip provided with a capillary through which a sample flows and a cartridge superimposed on the chip and provided with a liquid reservoir. The analysis device includes a guide-in section into which the analysis kit is guided, a placement section on which the analysis kit placed so as to be supported, a pusher member that pushes the analysis kit from one side face of the analysis kit, contact members that oppose another side face on an opposite side in the horizontal direction to the one side face of the analysis kit placed on the placement section, and contact the other side face of the analysis kit being pushed in by the pusher member so as to position the analysis kit in the horizontal direction, and a measurement member that measures a component present in the sample in the analysis kit.
Object picking apparatus with imaging-based locating of pipette tip
An object such as a cell colony may be picked from a plurality of objects by acquiring an image of the objects and an image of a pipette tip. The image of the objects is analyzed to select an object of interest. The selected object is associated with a coordinate position. Based on the coordinate position, the pipette tip is positioned over the selected object. An image of the pipette tip is then acquired and analyzed. The pipette tip is associated with a coordinate position. A positional error between the coordinate position of the selected object and the coordinate position of the pipette tip is determined. Based on the positional error, the pipette tip and/or a sample holder supporting the objects is moved to align the pipette tip over the selected object, by matching the coordinate position of the pipette tip with the coordinate position of the selected object.
Automatic analyzer
When the automatic analyzer is installed in an environment with a high altitude and different external atmospheric pressures, there is a problem that an amount of vacuum suction decreases due to a decrease in suction performance of a vacuum pump and it is difficult to perform vacuum suction of an analyzed reaction liquid. In view of the above, by newly providing a pressure adjustment mechanism within a flow path connecting a vacuum tank to vacuum pump, it possible to control the pressure difference between a pressure in the vacuum tank and an external atmospheric pressure where the analyzer is installed to be constant regardless of the installation environment. Additionally, by providing a hole in communication with the outside in the vacuum tank or a vacuum bin, it possible to control the pressure difference between the pressure in the vacuum tank and the external atmospheric pressure where the analyzer is installed to be constant regardless of the installation environment.

Also provided is a molecular in vitro diagnostic instrument comprising the device for extracting and detecting nucleic acids and an automatic control system. Further provided is an in vitro diagnosis method by means of performing extraction and amplification of nucleic acids in a sample using the device for extracting and detecting nucleic acids.
INKJET DEPOSITION OF REAGENTS FOR HISTOLOGICAL SAMPLES
Devices and methods for the deposition of reagents onto cells or tissue samples are disclosed. Also disclosed are reagent compositions suitable for dispensing via a droplet-on-demand system.
Arrangement for preparing a plurality of samples for an analytical method
The invention relates to an arrangement for preparing a plurality of samples for an analytical method, comprising a carousel with a solid housing and moveable receiving parts for the sample containers; a control for controlling the receiving parts in the carousel; and a sample receiving device for providing the sample for the analytical method. Said arrangement is characterized in that one or more stations for preparing samples are provided on the carousel, the receiving parts for the sample containers of the carousel can be positioned on said stations. Said arrangement also comprises a centrifuge with pairs of opposite lying receiving parts provided for the sample containers, and said receiving parts are arranged such that they can move on the centrifuge for the sample holder such that a transfer of a sample holder between a receiving part in the carousel and a receiving part in the centrifuge can be carried out. The control takes place by the same control which is also provided for controlling the carousel.

METHOD FOR DETECTION OF A BOTTOM OF AT LEAST ONE WELL
A method for detection of a bottom of a well of a multiwell plate for a pipetting device is disclosed. The pipetting device includes a pipetting head configured for being coupled to a plurality of pipetting tips. A force sensor configured for measuring a resistance force depending on a force on a pipetting tip exerted by the bottom is used. The method includes measuring the resistance force during movement of one of the pipetting tips from a start position downstream towards the bottom of the well and stopping the movement at a bottom position. The method further includes storing the bottom position together with a corresponding logical position of the well in the multiwell plate in a database. Further disclosed is a pipetting device, a laboratory instrument for processing and/or analyzing a sample and a computer program and a computer-readable storage medium for performing the method.
PIPETTING UNIT

Pipetting device with a stator magnet assembly, which can be used on both sides, as part of a linear-motor drive of a pipetting unit
A pipetting device includes pipetting unit(s), a guide assembly with at least one guide rail on which the pipetting unit(s) is guided in order to be moved along a movement axis, and a linear drive assembly, by which the pipetting unit(s) can be driven in order to be moved along the movement axis. The linear drive device has a stationary stator, and the at least one pipetting unit forms a linear drive assembly rotor which can be moved along the movement axis relative to the stator. The pipetting device also has at least two rotor magnet assemblies which interact with the same common stator magnet assembly so as to generate a drive force and which are arranged at a distance from one another along a spacing axis that is orthogonal to the movement axis. The common stator magnet assembly is located between the at least two rotor magnet assemblies.
