The automatic analyzer includes a probe 120 exchangeably attached to an arm section 206 of a dispensing mechanism; a tube 201 which is connected to the probe and forms a dispensing channel; a syringe 121 which is connected to the tube and discharges and/or aspirates system water contained in the dispensing channel; and a controller 118, in which the controller makes the syringe aspirate the system water from the dispensing channel such that the system water is removed from the probe before the probe is detached from the arm section.

The apparatus comprises a nozzle for dispensing a luminescent reagent into a well W in a microplate M, a luminescence measurement unit for measuring luminescence occurring in the well W caused by mixing of the luminescent reagent and a specimen, and a stage (moving unit) for moving the nozzle and the luminescence measurement unit together vertically and horizontally, wherein the nozzle is secured to the stage and the luminescence measurement unit is mounted to be movable vertically with respect to the stage through a holder and springs interposed between the luminescence measurement unit and the holder.

Digital Dispense System

A digital dispense system and methods for preparing samples for analysis. The digital dispense system includes a fluid droplet ejection system housed in a housing unit. The fluid droplet ejection system contains a fluid droplet ejection head and fluid cartridge containing one or more fluids to be dispensed. A cartridge translation mechanism is provided for moving the fluid droplet ejection head and fluid cartridge back and forth over a sample holder in an x direction. A sample tray translation mechanism moves a sample tray back and forth beneath the fluid droplet ejection head and fluid cartridge in a y direction orthogonal to the x direction.

AUTOSAMPLER SAMPLE AND SAMPLE RACK IDENTIFICATION

A sample identification system for an automated sampling device is described. A system embodiment includes, but is not limited to, a sample holder having a plurality of apertures configured to receive a plurality of sample vessels therein, the sample holder having one or more corresponding sample holder identifiers positioned proximate to the sample holder; and an identifier capture device configured to detect the one or more sample holder identifiers positioned proximate to the sample holder and generate a data signal in response thereto, the data signal corresponding to at least an orientation of the sample holder relative to a surface on which the sample holder is positioned.

The valve module has a first port configured to receive an eluent from a first chromatography system, a second port configured to provide a fraction obtained from the eluent, a third port and a fourth port. The collection needle and the modifier module are in fluidic communication with the valve module at the third and fourth ports, respectively. The modifier module includes a source of a modifier solvent. The sample storage element is in fluidic communication with the valve module and is configured to receive a volume of the fraction for injection as a sample into a second chromatography system.
