A holder for arrangement on a washing basket of a dishwasher includes: a main body and a folding element which is arranged pivotably thereon, the folding element being transferable from a use position to a non-use position and vice versa. The main body has a recess which is open at an edge thereof to receive tubular washware. The folding element has an outer contour corresponding to an inner contour of the recess and, in the use, position at least partially fills the recess flush with a supporting surface provided by the main body.

A dish rack is supported for both selective movement into and out of a washing chamber of a dishwasher tub and vertically relative to the tub, with the vertical adjustment being made by manually grasping and shifting at least one frontal cross bar extending about a front wall of the dish rack to cause pivoting of first and second lever members extending along sides of the dish rack. The side lever members cooperate with latching mechanisms to lift and retain the dish rack in a select raised position.

A dishwasher appliance includes a metal rack. A housing and a cover on a side of the metal rack define a housing chamber. Within the housing chamber, one or more rotatable cams are present. Each cam includes a magnet within the cam and pivots about a shaft. Each cam may rotate from a passive position to a retaining position as a result of lifting of the metal rack, which attracts the magnet in each cam, pulling the cam into position. The rack is then lowered onto a retaining surface of each cam, the cam supporting the rack in the raised position.

A dishwasher for treating dishes according to a cycle of operation, the dishwasher having a tub at least partially defining a treating chamber and a first dish rack received within the treating chamber, and having a least a portion with a seat for supporting dishes. A second dish rack is located above the first dish rack and includes a movable section.

Disclosed are a rack assembly capable of enhancing usability by improving a rack assembly structure, and a dishwasher having the rack assembly. The dishwasher includes: a washing tub; and a rack assembly provided inside the washing tub, wherein the rack assembly includes: a frame; a tray on which dishes are accommodated and which is movably supported on the frame; and a link unit connecting the frame to the tray and moving the tray to one of a first location and a second location that is lower than the first location, the link unit being rotatably coupled with the frame and the tray.

Provided is a dishwasher having an improved structure capable of selecting whether to spray wash water. The dishwasher includes a washing tub, a basket provided in the washing tub to accommodate dishware, a duct provided in the washing tub to be supplied with wash water, a sub-duct mounted on the basket to guide the wash water, a connection pipe connected to the sub-duct, and a spray nozzle coupled to the connection pipe to be rotatable from a first position where the connection pipe is open and a second position where the connection pipe is closed.

A rack of a dishwasher includes a loading space that accommodates one or more objects to be washed and has a loading surface, an outer edge rib disposed around the loading surface, lower ribs that extend in a first direction from a side of the outer edge rib, and upper ribs that are disposed vertically above the lower ribs and extend in a second direction crossing the first direction.

A dishwashing appliance or rack assembly may include a rack, a front bracket, a rear bracket, and a joiner bar. The rack may include a sidewall having a transverse rail and slide in a transverse direction between an extended position and a retracted position. The front bracket may be attached to the sidewall and extend vertically between a fixed end secured to the sidewall and a free end laterally pivotable apart from the transverse rail. The rear bracket may be attached to the sidewall rearward from the front bracket. The rear bracket may extend vertically from a fixed end secured to the sidewall to a free end laterally pivotable apart from the transverse rail. The joiner bar may extend along the transverse direction from the front bracket to the rear bracket and be laterally translatable relative to the transverse rail to motivate the free end of the front bracket.

A dishwasher system for cleaning dishes may include at least one rack configured to receive a silverware basket, the basket including at least one silverware compartment, a pair of camshafts including a first camshaft and a second camshaft, each fixed to the rack and operable by a gearbox configured to rotate the camshafts with respect to the rack, the camshafts arranged below the silverware basket, and a cam arranged at each end of each of the camshafts, wherein upon rotation of the camshaft by the gearbox, the cams affect the height of a respective corner of the basket to allow the silverware therein to be lifted or lowered and exposed to spray at various heights or angles from sprayers within the dishwasher.
