A lifting device for displacing a receiver for items to be washed in a dishwasher from an initial position into an end position, or vice versa, includes a blocking device configured to automatically block the receiver for items to be washed in at least one intermediate position between the initial position and the end position. The blocking device includes an actuating element which, when actuated, is configured to unlock the blocking device such that the receiver for items to be washed can be displaced from the initial position to the end position, or vice versa, only for so long as the actuating element remains actuated to unlock the blocking device.

The mechanism also includes at least one running rail, which can be moved linearly in the guide rail and to which the shelf is fastened. The sliding-pivoting mechanism includes a locking mechanism for preventing a pivoting motion of the sliding-pivoting mechanism in a raised and a lowered end position. The locking mechanism is arranged on the guide rail and on one of the pivot arms and can be actuated by means of an activator fastened to the running rail.

Dishwasher rack lift mechanism

A rack lifting assembly for a dishwasher appliance is provided. The rack lifting assembly includes frame having rotatably mounted wheels to enable the frame to be rolled in and out of the wash chamber of the dishwasher appliance. A lower rack may be operably coupled to the frame by a pulley system including a rope winding between a first set of pulleys mounted to the frame and a second set of pulleys mounted to the lower rack. A retracting means, such as a motor, may wind and unwind a rope of the pulley system to move the lower rack vertically within the frame. Linear slides are mounted on the left and right sides of the frame to guide the lower rack, thereby keeping it in a horizontal orientation while lifting.

The elevating arrangement may further include a locking mechanism arranged between the spring loaded pivot arm arrangement and the lower rack, which may lock the spring loaded pivot arm arrangement when the lower rack has been elevated to the upper position, thereby fixing the lower rack in the upper position.
