An apparatus includes a flow cell, an imaging assembly, and a processor. The flow cell includes a channel and a plurality of reaction sites. The imaging assembly is operable to receive light emitted from the reaction sites in response to an excitation light. The processor is configured to drive relative movement between at least a portion of the imaging assembly and the flow cell along a continuous range of motion to thereby enable the imaging assembly to capture images along the length of the channel. The processor is also configured to activate the imaging assembly to capture one or more calibration images of one or more calibration regions of the channel, during a first portion of the continuous range of motion. The processor is also configured to activate the imaging assembly to capture images of the reaction sites during a second portion of the continuous range of motion.

The present disclosure describes a method, a system, and a computer program product of indicating a status of an analytical instrument on a screen of the analytical instrument. In an embodiment, the method, the system, and the computer program product include receiving data from an analytical instrument monitoring a liquid sample, segmenting the received data into data segments for at least two characteristics of at least one of the instrument, the sample, and an operating environment of the instrument, analyzing each of the data segments for the at least two characteristics, retrieving threshold values for the at least two characteristics from a computer data source, calculating at least one status of at least one of the instrument, the sample, and the operating environment, with respect to the analyzed data segments and the threshold values, and displaying the at least one status on a display of the instrument.

Bubble measurement system and method

A bubble measurement system includes a bubble detector including a vessel having a flow path configured to receive a flow of fluid including air bubbles from a bubble generator and an imaging system. The imaging system includes an imaging device for imaging the fluid and air bubbles in the flow path of the vessel of the bubble detector. The imaging system has an imaging controller coupled to the imaging device and receiving images from the imaging device. The imaging controller processes the images to measure bubble size of each air bubble passing through the bubble detector. The imaging controller includes a pairing module comparing successive images and the air bubbles in successive images to measure all bubbles flowing through the vessel.

The disclosure provides a system for electromagnetic monitoring of active cracks in a concrete dam. The system includes at least four electromagnetic signal acquisition devices and a main control module. Each electromagnetic signal acquisition device includes: an electromagnetic monitoring sensor, an electromagnetic signal acquisition module, a power supply module and a first wireless communication module, for collecting and extracting electromagnetic radiation signals generated by the active cracks in the concrete dam. The main control module includes: a second wireless communication module, a CPU, a data storage unit and a data display unit, for processing the electromagnetic radiation signals received by the second wireless communication module, positioning locations of the active cracks and quantifying sizes of the active cracks.
