A method for harmonizing the responses of a plurality of Raman analyzers includes steps of calibrating an intensity axis response of a spectrometer to a reference light source and measuring a laser wavelength of a laser using the spectrometer. The method also includes steps of measuring a fluorescence spectrum induced by the laser at the laser wavelength of a plurality of standard reference material samples using the spectrometer, measuring a temperature of each standard reference material sample while measuring the fluorescence spectrum, and correcting the fluorescence spectrum of each standard reference material sample based on the respective temperature. The method further includes steps of deploying each standard reference material sample in one of a plurality of field calibrator devices and calibrating the intensity axis of one of the Raman analyzers using one of the field calibrator devices and the corrected fluorescence spectrum of the respective standard reference material sample.
METHOD OF INTRINSIC SPECTRAL ANALYSIS AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF
A library of known intrinsic spectra is provided to identify at least one known material in a sample of interest. The library includes individual intrinsic spectra channels defined by the assignment of intrinsic spectra of at least one known material, and combinations thereof, so that the assigned intrinsic spectra of each intrinsic spectra channel is correlated to at least one known material. The at least one known material is identified in the sample of interest when intrinsic spectra obtained from the sample of interest is matched to an assigned intrinsic spectra of an intrinsic spectra channel of the library of known intrinsic spectra.

Disclosed is a calibration curve setting method for setting a calibration curve, the calibration curve setting method including: creating a first calibration curve on the basis of a measurement value obtained by measuring a standard sample for which a concentration of a predetermined component is known; creating a second calibration curve by correcting the created first calibration curve; displaying a screen configured to support an operator for restoring the second calibration curve to the first calibration curve; receiving an instruction of restoring the second calibration curve to the first calibration curve; and displaying the first calibration curve upon receiving the instruction of restoring.
Method to Estimate Surface Gloss
As described herein, a method has been developed to estimate the gloss of a black or dark sample using a color measurement system. In such a system, when measuring a higher gloss sample, more illumination light reflected from the sample surface will be directed away from the receiving sensor, and thus less signal will be detected. Using a derived sensor-signal to surface-gloss relationship, the surface gloss of a sample can be calculated by applying the measurements of the sample to the signal to gloss relationship to obtain a more accurate gloss measurement of a sample under analysis.
CALIBRATION OF A SENSOR
There is provided a method of calibrating a sensor comprising a luminescent compound having a luminescence that depends on the concentration of an analyte, and a detector configured to detect light emitted by the luminescent compound, the method comprising providing a component comprising the luminescent compound in a package that maintains exposure of the luminescent compound to the analyte at a known first concentration, assembling the component into the sensor and measuring a first value of a characteristic of the luminescence of the luminescent compound while exposed to the analyte at the first concentration, measuring a second value of the characteristic of the luminescence of the luminescent compound while exposed to the analyte at a known second concentration different from the first concentration, and determining parameters representing the dependence of the characteristic of the luminescence on concentration of the analyte using the first value and the second value.
Normalizing the response of a fluorescence instrument using spectral response
A method to normalize at least one of a population of subordinate clinical diagnostic analyzer to a master clinical diagnostic analyzer such that an assay result from a subordinate clinical diagnostic analyzer can be converted to the equivalent result of the master clinical diagnostic analyzer by using a simple multiplicative factor when the assay executed on each analyzer uses a common fluorescently labeled dye. Also a method to re-normalize a subordinate clinical diagnostic analyzer assay result to a master clinical diagnostic analyzer assay result by using a simple multiplicative factor when the assay executed on the subordinate clinical diagnostic analyzer uses a different fluorescently labeled dye than the assay executed on the master clinical diagnostic analyzer.
