Fusion bead testing device and method of testing a fusion bead
A fusion bead testing device is provided for testing the strength of a fusion bead removed from a pipe joint. The testing device comprises a first pressing means for exerting a force against the fusion bead. If the fusion bead splits as a result of the applied force then the fusion bead fails a quality control test and the fusion bead and consequently the pipe joint from which the bead was removed are deemed too weak. The fusion bead testing apparatus comprises an automatic split detection device for detecting a split in the bead.
FIXTURE FOR TESTING THE SHEAR PERFORMANCE OF MICROCELLULAR-FOAMED THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITE WELDS
A lap shear test fixture and method of use to test the performance of the weld interface in welded thermoplastic composite parts such as infrared welded or resistive implant welded or adhesive bonded composite parts. The specimens to be tested are provided from production-ready parts with typical geometry. The test fixture has at least two aligned blocks with at least two lateral support blocks that operably hold the specimen including two welded substrates. The test is performed in compression-mode at a pre-determined crosshead speed until the maximum load produced by a universal testing machine makes the weld interface between the two thermoplastic substrates fail in shear mode.
Remaining life estimation method for estimating remaining life of high-chromium steel pipe
An aspect of the present disclosure is to precisely define a constant value used in the Monkman-Grant analysis, when estimating remaining life of a high-chromium steel pipe through which high-temperature and high-pressure fluid is allowed to flow. A remaining life estimation method according to the present disclosure is particularly characterized in that a step of obtaining a constant on an accelerated creep test is performed in which a constant indicative of the product of a strain rate and a rupture time in the Monkman-Grant analysis is obtained by multiplying a first coefficient to transform uniaxial rupture ductility into multiaxial rupture ductility, the uniaxial rupture ductility being obtained from a specimen of the high-chromium steel pipe, a second coefficient to amend consumed life of the specimen, and a third coefficient to amend a measured pressure into an assessment pressure.
Solder cleaning system
A method of cleaning solder from the jaws of a solder ball test device including the steps of heating a gas to a temperature above the melting temperature of the solder and directing the heated has over the jaws of a solder ball test device to remove solder from the jaws, and an apparatus for carrying out the method.
Joining quality diagnosis device of panel element
A device for evaluating quality of welding spots of a panel is disclosed. The device includes a vibration transferring member, a first access member contacted with one surface of one end portion of the vibration transferring member and with the one surface of the panel, a second access member contacted with one surface of the other end portion of the vibration transferring member and with the one surface of the panel, an oscillator for supplying vibration to the one end portion of the vibration transferring member, a sensor disposed on the vibration transferring member to detect characteristic of vibration transferred along the vibration transferring member, and a computing device for analyzing characteristic of the welding spots using characteristic of vibration detected in the sensor.
Solder joint life predictor and solder joint life prediction method
A control device including a solder joint life predictor includes: a temperature sensor that measures temperature of a solder joint on an electronic circuit board that drives a heater and a motor; a storage that stores a reference acceleration factor that is an acceleration factor based on a test condition of a thermal shock test and a reference condition in an environment in which the electrical appliance is used; a calculator that calculates an actual acceleration factor from a temperature variation range and a maximum reached temperature of the solder joint during one cycle from start to end of driving of the heater or the motor; and a determiner that predicts the life of the solder joint by comparing the integrated value of the acceleration factor ratios with a threshold.
Deepwater platform welded joint testing system
Disclosed is a deepwater platform welded joint testing system. The testing system comprises a host unit, a hydraulic unit and a control unit, wherein the control unit is connected with the host unit and the hydraulic unit respectively; the host unit comprises a bearing frame placed on a bearing base, biaxial tension/compression loading oil cylinders mounted on the bearing frame, a lateral force resistant mechanism connected to the front ends of the biaxial tension/compression loading oil cylinders, counter-force supports fixed to the top end of the bearing frame and biaxial bending loading oil cylinders mounted on the counter-force supports. According to the deepwater platform welded joint testing system, through the independent or synergistic effect of the six loading oil cylinders, stretching and fatigue performance tests of a large complex structure under uniaxial tension/compression, uniaxial bending, biaxial tension/compression, biaxial bending and uniaxial/biaxial tension/compression and bending composite loads can be achieved.
UNDER WATER ACOUSTICS PLASMA GENERATOR
A system and method for evaluating a bond is provided. The system uses an underwater spark discharge to generate a compression wave in a first vessel containing a liquid. The system further includes a second vessel in which a vacuum is pulled to hold the first vessel against a bonded structure being inspected. The compression wave is directed to propagate from the liquid into the bonded structure to apply a known force to the bond being inspected.
FRACTURE PREDICTION METHOD AND DEVICE, PROGRAM, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
In a deformation simulation of a member joined by spot welding, an effective width being a width in a direction intersecting a direction of a load centered on a spot welded portion (14) on a flange face (13a) where the spot welded portion (14) is provided of a member (10) and changing correspondingly to a change in the load is calculated every predetermined time interval, and fracture of the spot welded portion (14) is predicted using the calculated effective width. This configuration enables precise fracture prediction of a spot welded portion where spot welding is modeled, for example, in a case of performing collision deformation prediction of an automobile member on a computer.
BOND TEST APPARATUS AND METHOD
A bond test apparatus comprises a test tool assembly 200 comprising a test tool 40 configured to contact a bond during a bond test, a flexure 80 coupled to the test tool assembly, and a sensor. The sensor is configured to provide a measurement of a displacement of a first end of the flexure 80 relative to a second end of the flexure on application of a force to the flexure, and a processor is configured to receive a displacement signal from the sensor and, based on the displacement signal and optionally a known stiffness of the flexure, to determine the force on the flexure.
