20170138049 · 2017-05-18 ·

A floor joist including a first piece of lumber including a first set of fingers and a first set of grooves is provided. A second piece of lumber including a second set of fingers and a second set of grooves is also provided. A finger joint is formed by a combination of the first second of fingers with the second set of grooves and a combination of the second set of fingers with the first set of grooves. A first set of pockets are formed between the combination of the first second of fingers with the second set of grooves, and a second set of pockets are formed between the combination of the second set of fingers with the first set of grooves.

Wire-pull test location identification on a wire of a microelectronic package

A mechanism is provided for identifying a wire-pull test location on a wire of a microelectronic package. A first distance between a first terminating location of the wire on the microelectronic package and a second terminating location of the wire on the microelectronic package is determined. Based on the first distance, a second distance from either the first terminating location or the second terminating location is determined as the wire-pull test location for testing a strength of a connection of the wire to at least one of the first terminating location or the second terminating location. An adjustment is performed such that a visual guide is oriented on the wire at the wire-pull test location.

INFINITELY ADJUSTABLE STUD TORQUE-OFF SOCKET ASSEMBLY

A testing apparatus for torque off weld stud testing has a socket to receive a weld stud welded to a metal sheet for testing strength of the weld. A stopper is received in the socket indexing the weld stud. A nut locks the stopper in position to enable repeated socket indexing to like weld studs.

METHOD FOR EVALUATING SUSCEPTIBILITY TO LIQUID METAL EMBRITTLEMENT CRACKING IN RESISTANCE SPOT WELDED PORTION OF STEEL SHEET

A method for evaluating susceptibility to liquid metal embrittlement cracking in a resistance spot welded portion of a steel sheet that enables highly accurate and quantitative evaluation is provided. The method includes: overlapping a first steel sheet and a second steel sheet, one or both of which are galvanized steel sheets, without an intervening gap to obtain a sheet combination, sandwiching the sheet combination between a pair of electrodes, and applying current and pressure via the electrodes to perform resistance spot welding; applying to a welded portion of the second steel sheet at the same time as or after the end of the current application; then observing the welded portion of the second steel sheet to ascertain the presence or absence of liquid metal embrittlement cracking; and evaluating susceptibility to liquid metal embrittlement cracking in the welded portion based on the observation result.

MULTI-DIRECTIONAL VISE DEVICE AND METHOD OF CUTTING MULTI-DIRECTIONAL SPECIMENS USING THE SAME

A multi-directional vise device is provided, the device comprising: a first body part and a second body part facing each other and spaced apart from each other by a certain gap in a second direction vertical to a first direction while having the first direction, which is a length direction of the specimen, as a reference axis; at least one jig part disposed in each portion of the first body part and the second body part that accommodates the specimen; and a compression part adjusting the gap between the first body part and the second body part, wherein at least one of the first body part and the second body part has at least a portion of its upper side that includes a cut part formed in the second direction.

QUANTITATIVE EVALUATION METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR STRESS CORROSION SUSCEPTIBILITY OF PIPELINE STEEL WELDING CONNECTOR

The disclosure belongs to a technical field of a stress corrosion cracking test, and specifically discloses a quantitative evaluation method and system for stress corrosion susceptibility of a pipeline steel welding connector. Through the disclosure, bending tests in a hydrogen sulfide environment is combined with a slow strain rate tensile test to obtain a limit value/range of the stress corrosion susceptibility of the welding connector. Resistance of the welding connector to stress corrosion cracking is unqualified when it is greater than the limit value/exceeds the limit range, otherwise it is qualified.

Variable plasma pulse generator for bondline strength verification

A system and method for evaluating a bond is provided. The system uses an adjustable submerged plasma probe to generate a compression wave in a first vessel containing a liquid. The system further includes a second vessel in which a vacuum is pulled to hold the first vessel against a bonded structure being inspected. The compression wave is directed to propagate from the liquid into the bonded structure to apply a known force to the bond being inspected. The adjustable submerged plasma probe allows the intensity of the compression wave to be increased or decreased at the bonded structure.
