The present invention aims at providing a small-diameter wire/rod/tube ultrasonic detector with an end blind area and an automatic ultrasonic nondestructive detecting system, wherein a sealing cover of the ultrasonic detector is located on a water storage device; an annular array unit mounting rack and a water pump are fixed in the water storage device, and an annular array detecting unit is connected to the annular array unit mounting rack; the water pump is connected to an input end of water circulation input and output; a sensor is mounted in one side of the sealing cover in which a detected material is allowed to enter; the annular array detecting unit comprises an outer ring part and an inner ring part, and the outer ring part and the inner ring part are connected into a whole by means of a wire inlet side end cover and a wire outlet side end cover; the outer ring part consists of an outer ring substrate and an outer ring arraying probe, and the inner ring part consists of an inner ring inner core and an inner ring inner core locking ring. The ultrasonic detector in the present invention has unique “acoustic eye” structure characteristics, changes the mode of ultrasonic waves entering the detected material, and can effectively eliminate the end detection blind area of the wire/rod/tube.

The system includes a transducing transmitter, a transducing receiver, and an ultrasonic pulse generator configured to generate drive signals for the transducing transmitter and receive a plurality vibrational waves at the transducing receiver. The system further includes a computing device including a measurement circuit configured to record a transit time for each vibrational wave and divide a distance between the transducing transmitter and the transducing receiver by the transit time to determine a pulse velocity of each vibrational wave, a comparison circuit configured to identify a highest pulse velocity of the vibrational waves and compare each highest pulse velocity to a first reference pulse velocity, and a decision circuit including an artificial neural network configured to identify a compromised bond condition around a steel rod.

A wear sole, an ultrasonic inspection apparatus having a wear sole, and methods for using the same are provided. In one embodiment, the ultrasonic inspection apparatus can include a body, a wear sole, and a fluid channel. The body can define a first chamber configured to receive a first volume of ultrasonic couplant and a distal end of an ultrasonic probe. The wear sole can define a second chamber configured to receive a second volume of ultrasonic couplant and the wear sole can be removably coupled to a distal end of the body. The wear sole can also have a membrane extending thereacross for separating the first chamber from the second chamber. The fluid channel can extend through the body and the wear sole can be configured to deliver the second volume of ultrasonic couplant to the second chamber.

The system may include a first electronic device. The system may also include a second electronic device. The system may also include one or more transducers connected to the water jacket, the one or more transducers configured to send signals through the water to gather information about each cable. The system may also include a computer system connected to the one or more transducers, where the computer system is configured to control the one or more transducers.
COILED WIRE INSPECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system and method of ultrasonically inspecting coiled wire includes a wire drawer, a first power feeder, an ultrasonic inspection device, and a re-coiler. The wire drawer receives wire that is unspooled from a first coil of wire that has not been internally inspected for defects. The wire is then fed through the first power feeder, which straightens the wire. The straightened wire is then fed through the ultrasonic inspection device to detect internal defects of the wire. The inspected wire is then re-coiled into a second coil of wire that has been ultrasonically inspected for internal defects. Accordingly, raw and uninspected wire coils can be continuously conditioned and inspected and then re-coiled, and may be certified for use in specific manufacturing processes, without having to inspect individual cut and separated sections of wire.

The present invention refers to a method for assessing the inclusive level in steel tubes using high frequency transducer (2) in the automatic ultrasound inspection, characterized in that it comprises the steps of: transporting a tube (1) through a bed (10) to an acoustic coupling unit (3); coupling the acoustic coupling unit (3) with the tube (1) through a radial movement (16) of transducer approximation (2) regarding the tube external surface (1); detecting inclusions information in at least one sweep region (11) along the length of the tube (1); sending the inclusions information to a sonic emitting and receiving unit (9); determining an inclusions index for the tube (1) or specific region; continuing the tube transportation (1) in an inspection line; and giving continuity to the inspection cycle with the next tube (1) in the production flow.

The method according to the invention is characterized in that also the local elongation of a discrete rope section is monitored and the rope is discarded if the local elongation of the rope section exceeds a predetermined maximum value (%), with the maximum value of the local elongation of the rope section being greater than the maximum value of the elongation of the rope over the entire length.
