OFF-AXIS VISUALIZATION SYSTEMS
Off-axis visualization systems are described herein which facilitate the deployment, visualization, and retraction of an imaging element from a catheter. Such a system may include a deployment catheter and an attached imaging hood deployable into an expanded configuration as well as an imaging element, such as a CCD or CMOS imager, which may be deployed from a low profile configuration into a position which is off-axis relative to a longitudinal axis of the deployment catheter and/or imaging hood.
Wire-driven manipulator
A wire-driven manipulator includes a first member and a second member into both of which a flexible member is inserted, the second member being disposed more on a base end side than the first member, wherein the first and the second members are bent by a drive of the flexible member, wherein the first member includes a bonding portion mechanically bonded with the member, wherein the second member is independent of the first member and the member, and wherein a variation of an average curvature of the first member caused by a drive of the members is larger than a variation of an average curvature of the second member.
Medical tool positioning devices, systems, and methods of use and manufacture
Medical tool positioning and control devices, systems, and methods. Handle assemblies that allow a steerable shaft to be steered, while allowing the separate movement of a medical tool. The handle assemblies can allow for rotation and axial movement of the medical tool, and optionally with an actuator disposed distal to a second actuator that controls steering of the steerable shaft.
Method for manufacture of a tip part and a tip part for an endoscope
A method for manufacture of a tip part for an endoscope including providing a camera assembly with an image sensor and a circuit board; providing a distal end segment having a distal end and a circumferential wall enclosing a spacing; providing an exterior housing having a circumferential wall enclosing a spacing; inserting the distal end of the camera assembly in the spacing of the exterior housing; positioning the proximal end of the exterior housing adjacent to the distal end of the distal end segment; injecting an adhesive into the spacing of the distal end segment so that at least parts of the circuit board are embedded in the adhesive; and allowing or causing the adhesive to harden; whereby the distal end segment, camera assembly and exterior housing form an assembled tip part of an endoscope attached to each other by means of the adhesive.
COMPACT MULTI-VIEWING ELEMENT ENDOSCOPE SYSTEM
The present specification is directed towards endoscopes, such as colonoscopes, that provide a broader field of view and allow extended access of surgical tools and also enable efficient packing of all necessary elements in the tip section, while maintaining their functionality. Also described are methods and systems for capturing and displaying still and video images using an endoscope corresponding to a left-side looking, a front-looking and a right-side looking viewing element of an endoscopic tip generated in a native aspect ratio.
INSERTION ASSIST TUBE FOR ENDOSCOPE
An insertion assist tube for an endoscope includes an insertion assist tube body and a fluid suppression member. The insertion assist tube body has a pipe line through which an insertion part is inserted, and an opening portion. The fluid suppression member is provided in the opening portion to suppress passage of a fluid. The fluid suppression member has a first porous member on which a first slit is formed, and a second porous member on which a second slit intersecting the first slit is formed.
ENDOSCOPE IMAGE-CAPTURING DEVICE AND ENDOSCOPE DEVICE
An endoscope image-capturing device includes: a first case inside of which is sealed; an image sensor arranged inside the first case; an electro-optic conversion element arranged outside the first case and configured to convert an image signal output from the image sensor into an optical signal; and a sealing member sealing the electro-optic conversion element.
Endoscope
An endoscope including a handle and an insertion tube connected to the handle and having a bending section with a first elongate bending section part and a second elongate bending section part. The first elongate bending section part includes first annular members arranged in a row and interconnected by first bridges so as to form a first comb-like structure. The second elongate bending section part includes second annular members arranged in a row and interconnected by second bridges so as to form a second comb-like structure. An outer circumferential surface includes a groove adapted to receive a first bridge and a groove adapted to receive a second bridge of the first bending section part.
HANDHELD SURGICAL DEVICE AND SHAFT FOR A HANDHELD SURGICAL DEVICE
A shaft and a handheld surgical device have an optimized shape for accommodating an instrument. This is achieved in that a peripheral border of a distal opening of a shaft for a handheld surgical device has a thickening facing outward at least in sections. Cut injuries can be avoided by this thickening due to the rounded borders of the distal opening.
APPARATUS FOR HEAT DISSIPATION AND USE OF SUCH APPARATUS
An apparatus for heat dissipation is provided comprising a heat source, a heat sink and a heat conducting element, wherein the heat conducting element conducts heat energy from the heat source to the heat sink along a heat conducting path, and wherein the heat conducting element is arranged in such a way on the heat source and the heat sink and is configured to physically change in such a way with increasing temperature of the heat conducting element that a) a first cross-sectional area between the heat source and the heat conducting element and/or a second cross-sectional area between the heat conducting element of the heat sink increases, and/or b) a length of the heat conducting path shortens. Further, a video endoscope having such an apparatus and a use of such an apparatus are disclosed.
