Flexible digital ureteroscope
The present invention discloses a flexible digital ureteroscope that is at least partially disposable. The ureteroscope comprises a single-use catheter and a handle. The catheter comprises a distal end, a bend portion, and a proximal portion. The distal end has a rigid or semi-rigid shell that houses a set of micro lenses, an image sensor microchip, and a plurality of LED light sources. A working channel extends along the entire catheter and is coupled to a working channel port on the handle to receive various medical devices and irrigation lines during an endoscopic procedure. In addition, the catheter includes one or more steering wires to control the distal end to bend towards a desired direction. The rigid or semi-rigid shell of the distal end is made of a mix of polymer composite material with graphene nano-filler for enhancing thermal dissipation. The handle may be a single-use handle or a reusable handle. In case the handle is a reusable handle, it includes a battery module and a wireless communication module for communicating with a host machine wirelessly. In case the handle is a single-use handle, to reduce cost, the handle does not include a battery module and/or a wireless communication module. Rather, the single-use handle includes a host interface for receiving power from the host machine and transmits image data to the host machine.
Biological navigation device
Biological navigation devices and methods are disclosed. The devices can be used as or to support colonoscopies or endoscopes. The devices can have longitudinally extensible cells that can be selectively inflated. The devices can have articulable links. The devices can be removably attached to elongated elements, such as colonoscopes or other endoscopes.
INSERTION DEVICE ASSEMBLY FOR NASAL SINUSES
An insertion device assembly for nasal sinuses includes: a guide pipe bent portion on the distal side of the guide pipe main body; a guide pipe distal opening on the distal side of the bent portion; a sheath inserted into the bent portion and the guide pipe distal opening from a proximal side opening of the main body through the main body to be movable back and forth; a sheath distal opening at the distal side of the sheath; an insertion portion of an endoscope inserted through the sheath to be movable back and forth; and an endoscope operation portion passing the sheath distal opening and the distal end of the insertion portion of the endoscope through the bent portion and protruding the distal end of the insertion portion of the endoscope from the guide pipe distal opening.
Instrument Tip Protector
This invention relates to a tip protector for an instrument such as an endoscope or borescope. A tip protector device for an instrument comprises a guard portion engagable with a tip of an instrument, the guard portion including an abutment surface arranged to contact the tip such that a part of the guard portion extends distally of an end face of the tip, and the guard portion being configured to prevent contact between the guard portion and a central portion of the end face; gripping members arranged to grip a part of a shaft of the instrument; a first connection member; and a second connection member, the first and second connection members being movable relative to each other between a first, disengaged position in which the tip of the instrument can be inserted into and removed from the tip protector device, and a second, gripping position in which the gripping members contact and grip the shaft of the instrument, wherein, the first and second connection members are biased in the first or the second position.
INSERTION DEVICE INCLUDING TRACTION MECHANISM
An insertion device includes an operation unit that is operable a traction member configured to apply a traction force to the operation unit, a channel member in which the traction member is inserted the channel member, a tubular seal member fixed to each of the channel member and the traction member and configured to deform along with a movement of the traction member and watertightly separate an interior of the channel member from a part of the traction member, a connecting member configured to clamp one end of the seal member with the part of the traction member, and a fixing member configured to fix the connecting member and the traction member in a state in which the seal member abutting against the connecting member and the traction member is pressed in the longitudinal axial direction.
Scanning laser projection display for small handheld devices
Image projection devices, high-speed fiber scanned displays and related methods for projecting an image onto a surface and interfacing with the projected image are provided. A method for projecting one or more images and obtaining feedback with an optical input-output assembly is provided. The input-output assembly comprising a light-scanning optical fiber and a sensor. The method includes generating a sequence of light in response to one or more image representations and a scan pattern of the optical fiber, articulating the optical fiber in the scan pattern, projecting the sequence of light from the articulated optical fiber, and generating a feedback signal with the sensor in response to reflections of the sequence of light.
DEVICE FOR USE IN HYSTEROSCOPY
A hysteroscopy device with an image capturing structure located at a distal end of an elongated member and communicating video signals with a monitor. The elongated member and the image capturing structure being dimensioned for insertion into the patient's uterus through cervix.
ENDOSCOPE
An electronic endoscope of the invention includes: an insertion portion to be inserted into a subject; a distal end rigid portion including a distal end portion and a proximal end portion, the distal end rigid portion being made of resin and provided at a distal end portion of the insertion portion; a bending tube made of metal and provided continuously with the distal end rigid portion; objective optical systems provided at the distal end rigid portion; an image pickup unit that picks up images formed by the objective optical systems; an illumination lens barrel made of metal, the illumination lens barrel holding an illumination optical system provided at the distal end rigid portion and being extended in a direction of the proximal end portion; and a first conductive portion that establishes electrical conduction between the bending tube and the illumination lens barrel.
Covering for a medical scoping device
The present invention relates to a cover having a plurality of moveable, external, angled projecting elements for use with flexible medical scoping devices such as endoscopesor enteroscopes.
