ENDOSCOPE HANDLE WITH FRAME
An endoscope having a handle including a frame, a fluid handling device secured to the frame via an interface, the fluid handling device comprising a fluid passage having a first fluid opening, a tube in fluid communication with the fluid opening of the fluid handling device, and shell parts enclosing a cavity accommodating the frame, the tube, and at least partly the fluid handling device therein, wherein, at least prior to enclosing the frame, the tube, and at least partly the fluid handling device within the cavity of the shell parts, the interface and the tube are configured to permit movement of the fluid handling device relative to the frame within a pre-determined boundary comprising a first position and a second position separated by a distance.
Instrument Port with Fluid Flush System
In at least some aspects, an instrument port for introducing an instrument into a surgical site comprises: a port body having: an instrument channel extending through the port body; and a plurality of fluid flush channels each separate from one another and the instrument channel, each extending along a major portion of the port body and in fluid communication with the instrument channel; and a bulb comprising a bulb channel extending through the bulb, the bulb channel aligned with the instrument channel, wherein the bulb channel and instrument channel are configured to receive the instrument.
Light Device and System For Providing Light to Optical Scopes
A system and method for providing light to an optical scope having a lightport. A light device connects a camera to an optical scope and supplies light to the scope while allowing for scope rotation. The light device has a proximal end attached to the distal end of the camera, a distal end adapted to be attached to and detached from the scope, and a light source. The light source may be powered by electrical power received from the camera. A light cable extends from the light device and has a distal end adapted to be attached to and detached from the light post on the scope to supply light to the scope. The distal end of the light device is rotatable with respect to the distal end of the camera such that the light cable is able to rotate about the optical axis of the camera.
Medical instrument
A medical instrument for endoscopic procedures that is provided with a hollow shaft, such that at least two channels are configured in the shaft and the channels can be coupled on the proximal end with supply conduits. To create a medical instrument of the aforementioned type which is of simple structure and ensures secure connect ability, it is proposed according to the invention that the proximal end of at least one first channel positioned in the shaft and the distal end at least one supply conduit that is to be coupled with this first channel are configured with respect to their geometric structural design in such a way that this first channel and the corresponding supply conduit can be coupled only with one another.
Endoscope system having connector
An endoscope system includes an endoscope and a cleaning adapter or connector. The endoscope has a port device or end sleeve, to which the cleaning adapter is coupled. The cleaning adapter includes a connector housing and a coupling sleeve, which has a male tapered portion. The connector housing includes a female thread (fastening device) and a guide surface. The port device includes a flange and a male thread. The guide surface guides the port device by contacting the flange. Thus, a male tapered surface or tapered sealing surface is axially aligned with a female tapered surface or tapered bore surface. The male tapered surface tightly contacts the female tapered surface by threaded engagement between the male and female threads. Accordingly, air-tightness or liquid-tightness can be ensured even in use of a plurality of connectors couplable selectively for connecting a related apparatus.
Endoscopic treatment device
An endoscopic treatment device includes an insertion unit, a manipulation unit provided at a proximal end portion of the insertion unit, and a manipulation unit attachment mechanism attaching the manipulation unit to an insertion port of a channel of an endoscope. The manipulation unit attachment mechanism has: a connection slider engaged with the insertion port by sliding in a first direction intersecting an axis of the insertion unit and disengaged from the insertion port by sliding in a second direction intersecting the axis; an insertion-port abutment part moving toward a proximal end by contacting with the insertion port; and a slider abutment part preventing sliding of the connection slider in the first direction when the insertion-port abutment part is located at a distal end side and permitting the sliding of the connection slider in the first direction when the insertion-port abutment part is located at a proximal end side.
Ergonomic Tubing Attachment for Medical Apparatus
An ergonomic attachment system for connecting an irrigation tube or an aspiration tube to a surgical handpiece that reduces surgeon wrist fatigue due to tubing twist. The tube is connected to the handpiece through a swivel joint which allows the tube to rotate circumferentially with respect to the handpiece and self-adjust to a neutral position to relieve the twist.
ADAPTER COMPONENT SET
In order to reliably separate an unsterilized zone from a sterilized zone in a device for connecting a medical instrument, an adapter component set 28 is for connecting the medical instrument such as an endoscope to an unsterilized device having a timing pulley 27 included in a rotation mechanism for rotating the medical instrument. An adapter 47 holds the medical instrument. A separator 46 has a hollow cylinder shape for inserting the adapter therein. At least the inner surface of the separator is included in the sterilized zone, and the outer surface of the cylinder is connected to the pulley. As connecting parts for connecting a drape for isolating the device having the rotation mechanism from the sterilized zone, a pair of an outlet drape bearing 41 and an outlet drape bearing cover 42 and a pair of an inlet drape bearing 45 and an inlet drape bearing cover 44 are provided.
Apparatus and Method of Providing an Interface to an Electrically Powered Instrument
A first connector for a medical instrument has one or more first channels extending through a first surface, and terminating at respective ends. A second connector has opposing second channels for coupling with the first channels. A first power transfer element is mounted on the first connector, and defines a first cross-sectional shape that encompasses at least one of the one or more first channels and has a first central axis extending through the first surface. A second power transfer element on the second connector defines a second cross-sectional shape that encompasses at least one of the one or more second channels and has a second central axis extending through the second surface. The first power transfer element may instead be on a side surface of the first connector, and may couple with a paired element on a receptacle or extension of the second connector.
Suction tubing in "Y" two-way
The suction system in the surgical area is part of the operation room, one of its functions is helps to aid the vision of the surgeon and the surgical team. Currently the operation rooms use a regular suction tubing which is just one female connector to the suction system, a body tube and a female connector to the surgical field.
With the modification and adaptation of the regular suction tubing, we will get the new suction tubing in “Y” two-way for surgery, one unit will do the job of 2 regular suction tubing, which will help in saving time to connect, and avoid changing tubes between instruments during the surgery (uncomfortable), less tangles in the surgical field and it will impact in the environment since we will producing fewer PVC which means less material to be disposed.
