SURGICAL INSTRUMENT CONNECTORS AND RELATED METHODS

Connectors for connecting or linking one instrument or object to one or more other instruments or objects are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a connector can include a first arm with a first attachment feature for attaching to a first object, such as a surgical access device, and a second arm with a second attachment feature for attaching to a second object, such as a support. The connector can have an unlocked state, in which the position and orientation of the access device can be adjusted relative to the support, and a locked state in which movement of the access device relative to the support is prevented or limited. Locking the connector can also be effective to clamp or otherwise attach the connector to the access device and the support, or said attachment can be independent of the locking of the connector.

An optical prism is designed to displace a field of view offset angle of an endoscope. A connector is designed to affix the optical prism to a tip of an endoscope that has a field of view at an initial offset angle displaced off-axis. The optical prism and connector are designed to reduce the offset angle of the field of view of the endoscope toward on-axis. Delivery packaging for an endoscope has a vial, well, or cavity designed to retain anti-adhesive lubricant in contact with a lens or window of the endoscope.

PORT CONNECTORS

The present disclosure relates to port connectors for sterilizing the exposed surfaces of a fluid port of an article to be sterilized to a sterilization apparatus. The port connector can include a housing that couples to the fluid port. The housing may define an inlet that fluidly couples to the fluid port, an outlet that fluidly couples to the sterilization apparatus, and a fluid passageway fluidly coupling the inlet and outlet. The port connector can include a porous member supported by the housing. The porous member has a porous structure defining a plurality of minute passageways. The porous member is arranged relative to the housing to engage the fluid port when the port connector is connected to the fluid port.

An object, for an endoscope apparatus having a non-contact type connector, is to provide an endoscope apparatus that allows downsizing the connector and maintaining a stable coupling state. The endoscope apparatus includes an endoscope and a processor. The endoscope includes a connector. The processor includes a slot into which the connector is inserted. The processor is coupled to the endoscope. The slot has a first length in a width direction intersecting with an insertion direction in which the connector is inserted and has a second length larger than the first length in the insertion direction. The slot includes a transmission coil for transmitting electric power on a side surface of the slot. The connector includes a reception coil that receives the electric power from the transmission coil on a side surface of the connector.

ENDOSCOPIC DEVICES, ACCESS SHEATHS, AND ASSOCIATED METHODS

Systems and methods for treating a patient may include accessing an anatomical structure with a single use visualization device, using the imaging capabilities of the single use visualization device within the anatomical structure, and in some cases, advancing the single use visualization device beyond the anatomical structure to and toward another anatomical structure within the patient. Disposable elements may be used with or added to the single use visualization device to accomplish tasks normally performed with reusable devices.

DISTAL END CAP DETACHMENT JIG AND ENDOSCOPE

Provided are a distal end cap detachment jig and an endoscope capable of simply and easily detaching a distal end cap from a distal end portion body.

A distal end cap detachment jig that is used to detach, from a distal end portion body of an endoscope insertion part, a distal end cap which is attachable to and detachable from the distal end portion body and which is provided with a locking portion for mounting capable of being locked to the distal end portion body when the distal end cap is mounted on the distal end portion body, the distal end cap detachment jig including: a jig body having an accommodation space portion of which one end is provided with an opening portion; a locking release portion provided in the jig body; and a holding portion provided in the jig body, in which in a case where the distal end cap is accommodated in the accommodation space portion, the locking release portion is in a locking release state in which locking of the locking portion with respect to the distal end portion body is released and the holding portion is in a holding state in which the distal end cap is held by the holding portion, to make the distal end cap integral with the jig body so that the distal end cap is capable of being pulled out from the distal end portion body.

Deflecting endoscope accessory channels

A scope system is provided including an elongate tube with a distal portion and a lumen extending therethrough. The scope system also includes at least one accessory channel extending from a proximal end to a distal end and having with an accessory lumen extending therethrough, the at least one accessory channel movably disposed at least partially within the lumen of the elongate tube. The at least one accessory channel includes a distal section and a forward-viewing configuration and a side-viewing configuration. In the forward-viewing configuration, the distal section of the at least one accessory channel is substantially parallel to the distal portion of the elongate tube and in the side-viewing configuration, the distal section of the at least one accessory channel is arced at a radius greater than a radius of the distal portion of the elongate tube.

Disposable endoscope

The present invention relates to an intubation system comprising insertion unit to be connected to a bending section of a medical instrument comprising an inner elongated shaft structure being capable of torque transmission around its length axis and an outer elongated shaft structure surrounding the inner elongated shaft structure and having a continuous outer surface, and an orientation controller being attached to the inner elongated shaft, such that when the orientation controller rotates, the bending section turns around itself.
