IMEDICAL INSTRUMENT DRIVE ASSEMBLY AND DOCKING SYSTEM
A medical instrument drive assembly includes a base portion, a first set of one or more drive outputs, a platform secured to the base portion, and a latching mechanism. The first set of one or more drive outputs are coupled to and/or extending from the base portion and are configured to drive a first medical instrument. The platform is secured to the base portion and movable between an elevated configuration and a depressed configuration. The platform is biased in the elevated configuration. The latching mechanism is configured to cause the platform to be held in the depressed configuration.
Endoscopic Devices and Related Methods
An endoscopic device includes a single-use cannula configured for insertion through a cervix into a uterus, a camera secured to a distal end region of the single-use cannula for acquiring images of the uterus, a connection hub secured to a proximal end region of the cannula, a reusable display configured to present the images acquired by the camera and that is securable to the connection hub, and a handle secured to the connection hub. The handle is pivotable between a first position in which the handle is stowed along the connection hub and arranged to prevent attachment of the reusable display to the connection hub and a second position in which the handle is deployed to an orientation that is antiparallel to the connection hub and arranged to permit attachment of the reusable display to the connection hub.
ENDOSCOPY SYSTEM
An endoscope system is provided, which comprises an endoscope having a hollow tube formed therein, a flexible elongate member having a first end for operational control and a second distal end for operation of robotic members, one or more actuators coupleable to the flexible elongate member at the first end thereof, and an anti-buckling tube arranged with respect to the hollow tube at the first end of the endoscope to prevent buckling of the flexible elongate member during translation of the one or more actuators. Different embodiments are also disclosed, including an endoscope comprising one or more flexible tendons having a wire coil sheath which includes wire having a substantially rectangular cross section, or an endoscope comprising a rotational-motion transmitting device, one or more flexible tendons and one or more electrical wires having anti-kink support thereon, a coupling means constraining the robotic member to an asymmetric range of motion, or torque joint means comprising a centrally aligned pulley for coupling the robotic member.
Ergonomic tubing attachment for medical apparatus
An ergonomic attachment system for connecting an irrigation tube or an aspiration tube to a surgical handpiece that reduces surgeon wrist fatigue due to tubing twist. The tube is connected to the handpiece through a swivel joint which allows the tube to rotate circumferentially with respect to the handpiece and self-adjust to a neutral position to relieve the twist.
ENDOSCOPE HANDLE WITH FRAME
An endoscope having a handle, the handle including a frame with bearings, a control device with trunnions extending from opposite sides of a body of the control device, shell parts together enclosing a cavity accommodating the frame and at least partly the control device therein, the shell parts including a first column and a second column extending into the cavity from opposite sides, wherein the shell parts and the frame each are formed as separate components, wherein the trunnions of the control device and preferably the columns are supported by the bearings of the frame so that the control device is rotatable about a pivot axis, and wherein the first and second columns of the shell parts are arranged to retain the trunnions of the control device between the first and second columns of the shell parts.
Outer Shaft for an Endoscope and Endoscope System
An outer shaft for receiving a shaft of an endoscope comprises a proximal end region for receiving a proximal end region of the shaft of the endoscope, a sealing surface for resting on a corresponding sealing surface of the endoscope for locally fluid-tight sealing of an intermediate space between outer shaft and shaft of the endoscope and a radially inwardly protruding cleat in the proximal end region for proximally engaging behind a radially outwardly protruding cleat on the proximal end region of the shaft of the endoscope. The radially inwardly protruding cleat is provided on a section of the proximal end region of the outer shaft that is elastically deformable in the axial direction of the outer shaft.
SAMPLING DEVICE FOR THE USE WITH AN ENDOSCOPE
A sampling device (9) for the use with an endoscope (1) having a suction channel and a suction connector (4) in communication with said suction channel. The sampling device (9) is adapted for connection to the suction connector (4) and said sampling device (9) is adapted for connection to a vacuum source. The sampling device (9) is adapted for forming a rigid connection with said endoscope (1) when connected to the suction connector thereof (4).
Endoscopic ultrasound fine needle aspiration device
A handle for a medical device includes a proximal segment defining a proximal lumen extending therethrough and sized and shaped to receive an endoscopic medical device therein. A medial segment is received within a distal portion of the proximal segment and has an outer diameter smaller than an inner diameter thereof. A medial lumen extends through the proximal segment and is open to the proximal lumen. A distal segment is received within a distal portion of the medial segment and defines a distal lumen extending therethrough open to the medial lumen. The distal segment has an outer diameter smaller than an inner diameter of the medial segment. The medial segment includes a first movement limiting mechanism limiting movement of an endoscopic medical device inserted therethrough along an axis of the distal lumen and a second movement limiting mechanism limiting advancement of an endoscope attached to the distal body portion.
Mounting member and endoscopic device
A mounting member includes: a body portion provided in a camera head including an image sensor, the body portion being rotatable about a first axis that passes through the body portion and connectable with an endoscope; a locking protrusion provided in the body portion and configured to lock with the endoscope; a detachable button configured to be movable with respect to the body portion and control attachment and detachment of the endoscope to and from the body portion; and a spring whose load applied to the locking protrusion changes according to an advancing/retreating operation of the detachable button with respect to the body portion. The detachable button includes a sliding portion extending in an advancing/retreating direction with respect to the body portion and configured to slide with respect to the body portion. The body portion includes a guide portion configured to guide a moving direction of the sliding portion.
ATTACHMENT CLAMP
Various apparatuses to attach a first medical device to a second medical device are described that allow the physician to grasp only a single device while the other device remains securely attached to the one being grasped. The apparatuses, once they are attached to the first medical device, are designed to be easily and quickly attached and detached to a second medical device, normally only requiring the use of one hand. Furthermore, the apparatuses oftentimes include a base that can easily couple and decouple from the portion that is attached to the second medical device so that if the need arises to separately use the second medical device, it can be decoupled from the first medical device without completely removing the apparatus from the second medical device.
