ENDOSCOPE
20230126521 · 2023-04-27 · ·

An endoscope comprising: an insertion portion; a raising base provided at a distal end of the insertion portion; a wire configured to move in a raising direction to raise the raising base; a biasing element attached to the wire and configured to apply to the wire a biasing force in the raising direction; and an operation portion coupled to a proximal end of the insertion portion, the operation portion including a switching mechanism having a first state and a second state. The switching mechanism is configured to switch between the first state and the second state. In the first state, the switching mechanism prevents the biasing force from moving the wire in the raising direction and, in the second state, the switching mechanism allows the biasing force to move the wire in the raising direction.

An endoscope eyepiece grasping mechanism includes a base part with an arcuate wall portion defining a base part wall opening between the base part arcuate wall portion circumferential ends and a rotatable part with a rotatable arcuate wall portion defining a rotatable part arcuate wall opening between the rotatable arcuate wall portion circumferential ends. A path guide rotates and axially moves the rotatable part relative to the base part between an open and closes state. A biasing device acts to bias the rotatable part toward the closed state, whereby an endoscope eyepiece may be pushed through an endoscope eyepiece side opening to a coupled position in the open state and the rotatable part rotates to the closed state and moves axially toward the base to retain the eyepiece in the coupled position.

ENDOSCOPE AND TREATMENT TOOL ELEVATING MECHANISM

There are provided an endoscope and a treatment tool elevating mechanism capable of achieving improvement in accessibility of a cleaning brush, prevention of wear of a distal-end-portion main body, and prevention of slipping of a treatment tool into the lower side of an operating wire. When viewed in a second direction perpendicular to both the longitudinal axis of the distal-end-portion main body and a first direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, a wire distal end portion of the operating wire connected to a wire connection portion of a treatment tool elevator is positioned on the other direction side with respect to an elevator main body portion of the treatment tool elevator. A second wall portion of an elevator-housing-space forming member has a first wall surface at least a portion of which has a shape along the trajectory of the wire connection portion that rotates about a rotary shaft, and a second wall surface provided at a position on one direction side of the first direction with respect to the first wall surface and having a shape extending along the trajectory of the elevator main body portion that rotates about the rotary shaft. When viewed in the second direction, the second wall surface overlaps at least a portion of the wire distal end portion in the first direction.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ENDOSCOPE PROPULSION AND LUMEN EVACUATION
20230062769 · 2023-03-02 · ·

System and method for advancing and retracting a tubular medical instrument within a body lumen and evacuating lumen material therefrom. A shaft of the medical instrument is inserted through a central bore of a probe, an evacuation adaptor, and a swivel fastener unit, respectively mounted onto a distal carriage, a central carriage, and a proximal carriage of a translation mechanism. The probe is directed toward cavity entrance of body lumen using an adjustment mechanism coupled to a translation mechanism beam. A central probe unit of probe is maintained sealingly coupled to cavity entrance by propelling distal carriage along beam. The evacuation adapter is maintained sealingly coupled to the probe by propelling central carriage along beam, concurrent with displacement of a hollow tube of probe relative to central probe unit. Lumen material is evacuated using evacuation adaptor. The medical instrument is advanced and retracted by propelling proximal carriage along beam.

Disclosed embodiments include apparatuses, systems, and methods for positioning electrodes within a body. In an illustrative embodiment, a control handle is selectively engageable with primary and secondary actuators respectively coupled with primary and secondary electrodes. At a first position, the primary and secondary actuators are movably engaged to move in concert to a second position where distal ends of the electrodes extend into a target region. At the second position, the control handle is engaged with the secondary actuator and movable independently of the primary actuator in a first direction to a third position where the distal end of the secondary electrode extends beyond the distal end of the primary electrode. At the third position, the control handle is movably engaged with the primary actuator and movable independently of the secondary actuator in a second direction to a fourth position to partially retract the distal end of the primary electrode.
