Biochemical markers for neurodegenerative conditions

Provided herein is a method of bioassay for the quantification of peptide fragments relevant to neurodegenerative conditions. The method comprises cleaving a Tau protein by a secretase, such as ADAM10, to form a neo-epitope. The method comprises contacting a blood derived sample with an antibody specific for the neo-epitope and determining the level of binding of the antibody to peptide fragments comprising the neo-epitope in the sample. Neo-epitope containing peptide levels are found to be inversely correlated to cognitive function.

ANTI-VEGFR2 ANTIBODY THERAPY FOR HEPATOCELLULAR CARCINOMA

The invention provides for a human antibody that binds to human vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2, preferably ramucirumab, for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma in patients having levels of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) of 1.5 ULN or greater, and as a predictive method for the treatment of HCC in patients having AFP levels of 1.5×ULN or greater.

METHOD FOR DETERMINING UNDIFFERENTIATED STATE OF PLURIPOTENT STEM CELLS BY CULTURE MEDIUM ANALYSIS

There is provided a method for easily determining an undifferentiated state of pluripotent stem cells without relying on the judgment of a skilled technician. The method includes: a step of evaluating an undifferentiated state of pluripotent stem cells based on a time-dependent change in a variation value of an extracellular metabolite contained in a culture medium in which the pluripotent stem cells are cultured, wherein the extracellular metabolite is at least one selected from a group consisting of L-glutamic acid, L-alanine and ammonia.

Diagnosis and risk stratification by determining the marker CT-proADM
09726675 · 2017-08-08 · ·

The invention relates to a novel diagnostic marker CT-proADM (C-terminal fragment of preproADM, SEQ ID No. 1) for diagnosing and/or stratifying the risk of diseases. Also disclosed is a method for diagnosing and/or stratifying the risk of diseases, particularly cardiovascular diseases, cardiac insufficiency, and infections and/or inflammations of the lungs and respiratory tract. In said method, the CT-proADM (SEQ ID No. 1) marker, or a partial peptide of fragment thereof, or said marker contained in a marker combination (panel, cluster) is determined in a patient who is to be examined. The invention further relates to a diagnostic apparatus as well as a kit for carrying out said method.

KIT FOR RAPIDLY TESTING MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION AND A PREPARATION METHOD AND AN APPLICATION THEREOF
20170219608 · 2017-08-03 ·

Disclosed are a kit for testing myocardial infarction rapidly and a preparation method and use thereof. The kit comprises a strip capable of detecting three markers, namely, human myeloperoxidase (MPO), heart-fatty acid binding protein (FABP3) and cardiac troponin I(cTnI) simultaneously. The strip comprises a sample pad, a conjugate pad, a chromatographic membrane coated with three test lines and a quality control line, and a sample absorption pad. Antibodies of the three markers are all marked on the conjugate pad. The chromatographic membrane has three test lines formed by coating paired antibodies of the three markers respectively, the paired antibodies of the three markers being able to specifically combine with the three markers, respectively. The kit has advantages such as convenient operation, rapid response, high sensitivity and high specificity, point of care test, and economical and practical etc.

Gene expression markers and treatment of multiple sclerosis

The present invention concerns markers of multiple sclerosis, their use, and treatment with IL-17 antagonists, including IL-17 antibodies, of subjects with increased levels of such markers.

Peptides and combination of peptides for use in immunotherapy against various cancers

The present invention relates to peptides, proteins, nucleic acids and cells for use in immunotherapeutic methods. In particular, the present invention relates to the immunotherapy of cancer. The present invention furthermore relates to tumor-associated T-cell peptide epitopes, alone or in combination with other tumor-associated peptides that can for example serve as active pharmaceutical ingredients of vaccine compositions that stimulate anti-tumor immune responses, or to stimulate T cells ex vivo and transfer into patients. Peptides bound to molecules of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC), or peptides as such, can also be targets of antibodies, soluble T-cell receptors, and other binding molecules.

Highly sensitive system and method for analysis of troponin

The invention provides methods, compositions, kits, and systems for the sensitive detection of cardiac troponin. Such methods, compositions, kits, and systems are useful in diagnosis, prognosis, and determination of methods of treatment in conditions that involve release of cardiac troponin.
