System and method for medical escalation and intervention that is a direct result of a remote diagnostic test

A method for initiating a telemedicine conference on a mobile device is provided. The method comprises receiving diagnostic test results in response to a diagnostic test, determining if the diagnostic test results include a positive result, storing the diagnostic test results on a server disposed on a network, presenting, if the diagnostic test results are positive, a telemedicine initiation option on a screen of the mobile device, determining whether the telemedicine initiation option is selected, sending the diagnostic test results from the server to the telemedicine provider, sending additional medical history information to the telemedicine provider, and initiating a telemedicine conference with the telemedicine provider. Some of these aspects also provide healthcare providers the ability to electronically send prescriptions and provide users the ability to use a mobile application to send prescriptions to pharmacies to be filled.

A device that includes a first portion, the first portion including at least one fluid channel; a fluid actuator; and an introducer, a second portion, the second portion including at least one well, the well containing at least one material, wherein one of the first or second portion is moveable with respect to the other, wherein the introducer is configured to obtain at least a portion of the material from the at least one well and deliver it to the fluid channel, and wherein the fluid actuator is configured to move at least a portion of the material in the fluid channel.

Method of making a polymersome

The present invention provides polymersomes comprising amphiphilic block-copolymers and their use to quantify ammonia in samples (e.g., body fluid samples). More particularly, it provides a polymersome comprising (a) a membrane, which comprises a block copolymer of poly(styrene) (PS) and poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO), wherein the PS/PEO molecular weight ratio is higher than 1.0 and lower than 4.0; and (b) a core which encloses an acid and at least one pH-sensitive dye. Compositions, strips and kits comprising the polymersomes are also provided along with methods of quantifying ammonia in a sample using the polymersomes, compositions and kit.

A transdermal sampling system includes a microfluidic assembly for retrieving and transferring at least one biomarker transdermally from the skin of a subject. The biomarker is selected from a group of biomarkers consisting of: a nicotine biomarker, -hCG, luteinizing hormones, ESAT6; CFP10, Hsp16.3, marijuana and its derivatives, opiates, narcotics, ethanol, barbiturates, pyridinoline crosslinks, Calcitonin, FSH, estrogen, vitamin D, calcium, glial fibrillary acid protein (GFAP), microtubule-associated protein tau, SNTF-calpain cleaved N terminal fragment proteins, estradiol, P4-progesterone, troponin, lactate, CO.sub.2 levels, and pH levels. A transdermal detector identifies and quantifies the at least one biomarker.

Analysis method and analysis kit for simultaneously detecting or quantitating multiple types of target substances

The present invention provides an analysis method for simultaneously detecting or quantifying plural species of target substances by measuring the light emission from plural carriers within a single container from outside of the container, these carriers comprising a plurality of substances that are respectively immobilized thereon for capturing the plural species of target substances, wherein the light emission from a desired carrier is selectively received by measuring the emission from the carriers through an optical filter. The present invention also provides an analysis kit for simultaneously detecting or quantifying plural species of target substances by measuring the light emission from plural carriers within a single container from outside of the container, these carriers comprising a plurality of substances that are respectively immobilized thereon for capturing the plural species of target substances, which comprises the plural carriers and an optical filter for selectively receiving the emission from a desired carrier.
