ENDOSCOPE WITH SHARED WORKING CHANNEL
A method and system are disclosed for opening a workspace inside a lumen of a living creature are disclosed. Anchors may be affixed to opposite ends of the workspace. An extender may be distance anchors apart while they are affixed to the walls of the workspace. Distancing the anchors may unfold and/or stretch the lumen in the region of the workspace.
EXPOSURE CONTROL METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR AN IMAGE CAPTURE DEVICE
Improved exposure control processes, devices, and systems are provided for wide angle lens imaging systems that suffer from image distortion. The exposure control uses a model of the wide angle lens distortion that estimates the weights that respective pixels of the image would have when producing an undistorted version of the image signal, and then scales pixel intensity values by the respective weights to produce weighted pixel values. The weighted pixel values are provided to an exposure control pixel counting process to produce one or more exposure feedback control signals, which control exposure features of the imaging system.
Systems and Methods for Lesion Formation and Assessment
System and methods for optical tissue interrogation are provided. In some embodiments, a catheter for visualizing ablated tissue is provided, and can include a catheter body, and a distal tip positioned at a distal end of the catheter body. The distal tip can have one or more openings for exchange of light energy between the distal tip of the catheter and tissue.
Imaging apparatus and method which utilizes multidirectional field of view endoscopy
Exemplary apparatus for coupling to a probe and providing information regarding at least one structure can be provided. For example, the apparatus can include an electronics arrangement which is configured to obtain the information and transmit the information wirelessly, and a structural connection configuration which is structured and configured to be attached to the probe. The electronics arrangement can include a detector arrangement which is configured to detect at least one return radiation from at least one portion of at least one sample based on the predetermined patterns, and provide the data for the portion(s) based on the return radiation(s). In addition, a computer arrangement can be provided which is configured to generate the information with includes image data for the portion(s) as a function of the data and prior knowledge of the predetermined patterns.
Methods for polyp detection
Disclosed herein are methods for identifying polyps or lesions in a colon. In some variations, computer-implemented methods for polyp detection may be used in conjunction with an endoscope system to analyze the images captured by the endoscopic system, identify any polyps and/or lesions in a visual scene captured by the endoscopic system, and provide an indication to the practitioner that a polyp and/or lesion has been detected.
Elevator for directing medical tool
There is provided herein an endoscope assembly comprising at least one front-pointing viewing element on a front end of a distal section of the endoscope assembly, at least one side-looking viewing element on at least one side wall of the distal section of the endoscope assembly, a working channel configured for insertion of a medical tool towards the distal section, and a system for regulating the direction of exit of medical device wherein said system enables the medical device to exit at multiple angles to the long dimension of the endoscope device either from the front end or through side walls of the distal section of the device.
ENDOSCOPE SYSTEM
An endoscope system includes: an insertion portion inserted into a subject; a first image acquisition section provided on the insertion portion and configured to acquire a first image from a first region of an object; a second image acquisition section provided on the insertion portion and configured to acquire a second image from a second region of the object including a region adjacent to the first region; and an image processing section configured to execute image processing by setting a first display region and a second display region adjacent to the first display region in a display section configured to display an image, disposing the first image in a first display region, disposing part of the second image in the first display region adjacent to the first image, and disposing remaining part of the second image in a second display region.
ENDOSCOPE SYSTEM
An endoscope system includes an insertion portion, an objective optical system provided on the insertion portion and configured to form an object image, an image pickup unit configured to pick up the object image, a bending portion configured to cause a distal end portion of the insertion portion to bend, an image processing portion configured to perform cutout processing on the image picked up by the image pickup unit, such that an area of field of view expands in a bending direction of the distal end of the insertion portion by the bending portion, and an exposure control portion configured to perform exposure control based on a brightness of the cutout image.
ENDOSCOPE ILLUMINATION DEVICE AND ENDOSCOPE
An endoscope illumination device includes: an illumination optical system including an entrance surface disposed along a circumferential direction centered on a predetermined axis and provided at one-end side in the direction of the predetermined axis, an emission surface positioned at an outermost side in a radial direction with respect to the predetermined axis and radially emitting illumination light entering from the entrance surface, a diffusion surface disposed at an intermediate position of an optical path of the illumination light between the entrance surface and the emission surface and transmitting and diffusing the illumination light; and a light emitting portion disposed closer to the one-end side than the entrance surface is and emitting, toward the entrance surface, the illumination light substantially in the direction of the axis.
Endoscope with multifunctional extendible arms and endoscopic instrument with integrated image capture for use therewith
An endoscope and methods of use thereof are provided, which includes at least one multi-functional extending arm supporting a plurality of imaging, lighting and other sensory elements. The arms provide a mounting platform upon which cameras, lights and sensors may be mounted to generate multiple-angled images and video, arena-like lighting and other data for performing a minimally-invasive surgical (MIS) procedure. The arms may be inserted through a single portal in the endoscope and extended outward in multiple directions from the single portal once inserted into a body cavity. The endoscope may also include support arms which support the extending arms within the body cavity and a stabilization plate which anchors the endoscope to an external surface of the body. An endoscopic tool with optical, lighting and other sensors integrated into a functional end is also provided.
