Visualization devices and methods for use in surgical procedures
A surgical device includes a handle assembly, an elongated portion, an end effector, a visualization device, and a constant horizon mechanism. The elongated portion extends distally from the handle assembly and defines a longitudinal axis. The end effector is rotatable about the longitudinal axis relative to the handle assembly. The visualization device defines a visualization axis. A first portion of the visualization device extends through the elongated portion, and a second portion of the visualization device is disposed at least partially within the handle assembly. The visualization device is rotatable about the longitudinal axis relative to the handle assembly. The constant horizon mechanism is disposed in operative engagement with the visualization device and is configured to prevent the visualization device from rotating about the visualization axis when the visualization device rotates about the longitudinal axis.
Apparatus for capturing a stereo image
An apparatus for capturing a stereo image includes a first objective for producing a first image, a second eye objective for producing a second eye image, a first viewing direction device rotatable about a first axis assigned the first objective, and a second viewing direction device rotatable about a second axis assigned the second objective. The viewing direction of the apparatus is rotatable by simultaneous rotation of the first and second viewing direction devices. The first objective or part is movable in a translational fashion. A cam mechanism is provided and embodied to couple a rotation of the first viewing direction device to a translational movement of the first objective or part.
Stereo imaging miniature endoscope with single imaging and conjugated multi-bandpass filters
An endoscope includes a housing with a distal end insertable into a cavity; an image capture device at the distal end to obtain 3D images, and process them to form a video signal; and a folded substrate folded into a U-shape having first and second legs. The image capture device includes a detector and a lens system with right and left multi-band pass filters having right pass bands that are complements of left pass bands. The lens system receives the 3D images including right and left images. The detector faces the lens system to obtain the right and left images. A processing circuit faces the proximal end behind the detector to process signals from the detector. The folded substrate includes the detector at an outer side of the first leg facing the lens system and the processing circuit at an outer side of the second leg facing the proximal end.
ROTATION ASSEMBLY FOR ENDOSCOPE LENS
An endoscope includes a handle assembly, an elongate shaft extending distally from the handle assembly, a tip disposed at a distal end of the elongate shaft, an imaging device disposed within the tip, and a rotation assembly operably coupled to the imaging device for rotating the imaging device within the tip.
Systems And Methods For Changing The Direction Of View During Video Guided Clinical Procedures Using Real-Time Image Processing
Arthroscopes and laparoscopes are available in several lens cuts to cover different clinical situations of interest, with the surgeon having to exchange the optics in order to change the direction of view of the camera. The presently disclosed embodiments disclose real-time image processing systems and methods that enable the user to arbitrarily change the direction of view of a surgical camera with the advantage of avoiding the disruption in workflow caused by the physical exchange of the optics. In addition, the presently disclosed embodiments disclose performing zoom along an arbitrary viewing direction (directional zoom) that enables to increase the scale of a region of interest without decreasing the overall field-of-view or losing image contents.
SURGICAL ARM SYSTEM WITH INTERNALLY DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLIES
Example embodiments relate to robotic arm assemblies. Embodiments of the robotic arm assembly include a shoulder segment and upper arm segment having a motor drive portion. Embodiments also include a shoulder coupling joint assembly connecting the upper arm segment to the shoulder segment. Shoulder coupling joint assembly includes a distal shoulder joint subassembly connected to the upper arm segment. The distal shoulder joint subassembly includes a distal shoulder joint forming a first axis. The distal shoulder joint subassembly includes a shoulder planetary gear assembly. Embodiments include an elbow coupling joint assembly connecting the upper arm segment to the forearm segment. The elbow coupling joint assembly includes a proximal elbow joint subassembly connected to the upper arm segment. The proximal elbow joint subassembly includes a proximal elbow joint forming a second axis. The proximal elbow joint subassembly includes an elbow planetary gear assembly.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR IMAGING AND IMPLANTING CARDIAC DEVICES
Devices, systems, and methods for delivering various implantable devices, such as heart valve implants, with the use of a steerable imaging element are described. An imaging element is positioned adjacent the implantable device and implant site, a relationship between the implantable device and the implant site is visualized and/or imaged, and the implantable device is anchored and/or adjusted with reference to the visualization and/or imaging thereof.
Endoscope
An optical prism is designed to displace a field of view offset angle of an endoscope. A connector is designed to affix the optical prism to a tip of an endoscope that has a field of view at an initial offset angle displaced off-axis. The optical prism and connector are designed to reduce the offset angle of the field of view of the endoscope toward on-axis. Delivery packaging for an endoscope has a vial, well, or cavity designed to retain anti-adhesive lubricant in contact with a lens or window of the endoscope.
MEDICAL DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE
A single-use medical endoscope with an elongate shaft carrying a distal image sensor, with a flex circuit component having a distal end electrically coupled to the image sensor and a proximal tail end of the flex circuit extending outwardly from the endoscope handle to a flex circuit connector assembly.
Deflectable endoscope and method of use
Integrated hysteroscopic treatment systems which includes an endoscopic viewing system, a fluid management system, a resecting device and a controller for operating all the systems.
