Thyroid peroxidase autoantibody immunoassay

Disclosed herein are immunoassays for detecting an anti-thyroid peroxidase antibody in a biological sample from a subject and/or diagnosing a thyroid disease in a subject. The disclosed immunoassays employ a recombinant cynomolgus monkey thyroid peroxidase (rTPO) and assess the level of anti-thyroid peroxidase antibody-induced formation or disruption of complexes comprising a solid support and the rTPO.

BIOMATERIAL ASSAY STRIP

The present invention provides a biomaterial assay strip as a strip-type platform for use in a point-of-care test device. The strip includes a porous matrix bearing micropores and composed of materials comprising a copolymer selected from the group comprising polysulfone, polyethersulfone, and polyarylsulfone in order to increase separation efficiency of the blood cells contained in a sample and to improve accuracy and reproducibility of measurements with a small amount of blood, wherein the matrix comprises an enzyme, a dye, and a hydrophilic polymer material therein, which all respond to a biomaterial and wherein the matrix develops a color as the biomaterial contained in the sample which is brought into contact with the upper layer of the matrix and then diffuses to the lower layer of the matrix, thereby assaying the biomaterial.

EVALUATION METHOD FOR PROTEIN-CONTAINING SOLUTION

Provided are methods of analysing markers of eosinophil levels and/or markers of neutrophil levels in a blood sample from a patient suffering from an exacerbation of inflammation of a respiratory condition to determine the levels of eosinophils and/or neutrophils respectively. The methods may involve selecting an appropriate treatment. Systems and kits for performing the analysis are also provided.

MICROFLUIDIC BASED ASSAY FOR UNBOUND BILIRUBIN

A method for assaying analytes in a blood sample by loading a blood sample onto a microfluidic device; combining the blood sample with a buffer reagent comprising a surfactant to provide a diluted blood sample and conduct an assay. The surfactant is selected to permit the use of electrowetting to conduct droplet operations using the blood sample and to permit the use of a fluorescence-based droplet operation. The assay may be an unbound bilirubin assay.

Multiplexed catalyzed reporter deposition

A method for testing a sample for the presence of one or more targets comprises multiplexed catalyzed reporter deposition (CARD) is provided.

NOVEL THYROID PEROXIDASE AUTOANTIBODY IMMUNOASSAY

Disclosed herein are immunoassays for detecting an anti-thyroid peroxidase antibody in a biological sample from a subject and/or diagnosing a thyroid disease in a subject. The disclosed immunoassays employ a recombinant cynomolgus monkey thyroid peroxidase (rTPO) and assess the level of anti-thyroid peroxidase antibody-induced formation or disruption of complexes comprising a solid support and the rTPO.

Rapid Viral Assay

The present invention provides a method for rapid, highly specific and sensitive detection and quantification of a virus by observing viral substrate binding to its host receptor protein. The invention also provides a method for rapid, highly specific and sensitive detection and quantification of a virus in an individual suspected of being infected with a virus. The invention further provides a test kit for rapid, highly specific and sensitive point-of-care detection of a virus in an individual. The viruses and their host receptor proteins that can rapidly be detected include SARS-CoV-2 and its host receptor protein ACE2. The surprisingly rapid, specific, sensitive method and kit of the invention provide a point-of care test capable of diagnosing individuals suffering from COVID-19 by observation of a color change in the assay, which color change occurs in about five minutes, and which test can be completed by a user in about 60 minutes.
