MEDICAL DEVICE ACTUATORS
A linkage assembly for a medical device may comprise: a rotatable member configured to rotate about a rotation axis; a piston; and a connecting rod rotatably connected to the rotatable member and the piston and movable along a range. A first end of the range may correspond to an initial position of a distal member movable by the linkage assembly, and a second end of the range may correspond to a final position of a distal member. In a first configuration of the connecting rod, at the first end of the range, a proximal end of the connecting rod may be offset from a longitudinal axis by a first amount, wherein the longitudinal axis is perpendicular to the rotation axis; In a second configuration of the connecting rod, at the second end of the range, the proximal end of the connecting rod may be offset from the longitudinal axis by a second amount. The second amount may be less than two-thirds of the first amount.
METHOD FOR VISUALIZATION AND ORIENTATION GUIDANCE DURING ENDOSCOPY PROCEDURE
Apparatuses and methods for medical applications and, more particularly, to steerable flexible medical devices applicable to guide tools and devices in medical procedures, including endoscopes, cameras, and catheters are provided. The apparatuses and methods also include generating a panoramic image of an interior of a branching structure at or near the distal end of the flexible medical device wherein the panoramic image is generated based on the images of the branching structure.
Articulated tool positioner and system employing same
A laparoscopic surgical apparatus for performing a surgical procedure through a single incision in a patient's body includes a gross positioning arm supported on a moveable platform, the gross positioner including a head; at least one articulated tool positioning apparatus coupled via a tool controller to an underside of the head, the articulated tool positioning apparatus being configured to receive a tool for performing surgical operations, the tool controller being actuated by the head to cause movements of the articulated tool positioning apparatus for performing surgical operations; and wherein the gross positioner is configured to permit the head to be positioned to facilitate insertion of the articulated tool positioning apparatus through the incision into the patient's body.
Endoscope
An endoscope having an endoscope shaft and a main body, which is connected to the endoscope shaft and on which a first dial that has a first contact surface is mounted in a rotatable manner, is provided. The main body has a second contact surface against which the first contact surface bears. The contact surfaces move against one another when the first dial is rotated. A first setting unit is provided, using which a pressure force with which the first contact surface is pressed against the second contact surface is settable in order to set a minimum torque that is necessary in order to rotate the first dial.
Modular cable-driven surgical robots
A surgical robot can be configured for minimally invasive surgery (MIS) and other types of surgery with modular link geometry and disposable components. In some examples, the surgical robot includes a cable driver comprising at least one drive motor configured for tensioning a cable. The surgical robot includes an articulated surgical tool coupled to the drive motor by the cable. The articulated surgical tool comprises at least first and second articulated links and a joint coupling the first and second articulated links. The cable passes through the joint, and the joint comprises an elastic antagonist biased in opposition to tension from the cable to allow bidirectional actuation of the joint. The surgical robot includes a safety lock configured to lock the joint from allowing articulation of the first and second articulated links in response to a loss of tension in the cable.
Endoscope and method of use
An endoscope includes a shaft assembly having proximal and distal ends and a longitudinal axis therebetween. A handle is coupled to the proximal end of the shaft assembly, and an elastomeric body housing an image sensor and at least one LED is comprises a distal end of the shaft. The elastomeric body is deformable between a repose straight insertion profile and a deflected offset profile by the insertion of a tool shaft through the shaft assembly and an expandable-collapsible working channel in the elastomeric body. The viewing angle of the image sensor is moved from a first selected angle to a second selected angle when the elastomeric body is actuated from the repose profile to the deflected offset profile.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A STEERABLE INSTRUMENT AND SUCH STEERABLE INSTRUMENT
A steerable instrument for endoscopic and/or invasive type applications includes an elongated tubular body having a proximal end part, a distal end part and an intermediate part between proximal and distal end parts, the proximal end part having at least one actuation proximal zone. The distal end part has at least one flexible distal zone, and the elongated tubular body is configured such that a movement of an actuation proximal zone is transferred to a corresponding flexible distal zone for a corresponding movement thereof. The elongated tubular body includes an inner, outer, and intermediate cylindrical elements having longitudinal elements between the inner and outer cylindrical elements. Inner, outer and intermediate cylindrical elements are coupled so movement of an actuation proximal zone is transferred by the longitudinal elements of one of the intermediate cylindrical elements to a corresponding flexible distal zone.
VIDEOSCOPE
Videoscope with a grip and a tube with mini-camera where the grip comprises two articulated parts by means of a hinge, and a connection piece housed within them. Thus, the grip may be disposed in an open position and a closed position, creating an accessible inner cavity in the open position of the grip. The connection piece comprises: mechanical connection means with a proximal end of the mini-camera tube; electric power connection means, configured to transmit electric power to the mini-camera, and; electronic connection means with the mini-camera tube, configured for image data transmission. Preferably, the grip comprises a protector shield to avoid accidental pricking with needles inserted in the inlet of the working channel, and the tube with the mini-camera comprises a flexible piece in its distal part, manufactured in a single piece.
Cholangioscopy overtube and endoscope assembly
An overtube device and an endoscope assembly are provided, the overtube device includes an overtube body having a proximal end and a distal end, the overtube body is provided with a bore which extending from the distal end to the proximal end of the overtube body, the bore is configured to allow a passing portion of the endoscope assembly to pass therethrough; a pulling lumen is formed in the overtube body, which extends from the distal end to the proximal end of the overtube body, the pulling lumen is configured to allow a pulling part to pass therethrough, and the distal end of the pulling part is fixed with the distal end of the overtube body.
MEDICAL INSTRUMENT WITH ANGLE ADJUSTMENT DEVICE
The invention provides a medical instrument with angle adjustment device, including a guidewire output portion, a guidewire guide portion, an adjustment control portion and traction wires. The guidewire output portion is bendable relative to the guidewire guide portion. The guidewire output portion is provided with a guidewire output hole. One end of each traction wire is connected to a proximal end of the guidewire output portion, and the other end of the traction wire is connected to a bending control member of the adjustment control portion. The adjustment control portion controls a bending angle of the guidewire output portion through the traction wire. The ends of the plurality of traction wires are evenly distributed along the guidewire output portion.
