11672407 · 2023-06-13 · ·

Endoscopes having a tip section with viewing elements coupled to a CMOS image sensor and/or a CCD image sensor for transforming light captured by the viewing element into digital and/or analog signals are described. A main connector is coupled with the tip section for transmitting the signals to a main control unit of the endoscope. The main connector includes a pad for transmitting digital signals provided by the CMOS image sensor to a push pin probe in a receptacle of the main control unit. The main connector also include another interface for transmitting analog signals to the main control unit.

Video endoscope and handle, including driven rotation limitation, for video endoscope

The invention concerns a handle for a video endoscope including a housing and an interface portion rotatably supported relative to the housing where the interface portion includes a first connector element at its distal end section that is connectable to a second connector element of an associated elongate shaft of the video endoscope. Thereby a detachable, rotatable electrical and/or mechanical connection between the handle and the associated shaft is achieved. The coupling includes an electrical connection assembly arranged at an exterior of the interface portion forming an electrical connection to a stationary electric component of the handle. The handle includes a mechanical rotation stop for a rotation of the interface portion relative to the housing such that a rotation range is limited and damage to the electrical connection assembly is prevented.

Fluorescence Imaging Scope With Dual Mode Focusing Structures

Improved fluoresced imaging (FI) and other sensor data imaging processes, devices, and systems are provided to enhance use of endoscopes with FI and visible light capabilities. A first optical device is provided for endoscopy imaging in a white light and a fluoresced light mode with an image sensor assembly including one or more image sensors. A mechanism in the first optical device to automatically adjust the focus of the first optical device wherein the automatic focus adjustment compensates for a chromatic focal difference between the white light image and the fluoresced light image caused by the dispersive or diffractive properties of the optical materials or optical design employed in the construction of the first or second optical devices, or both. Adjustment mechanisms are provided using liquid lenses or repositioning sensors. The design may be integrated with a scope or detachable.

CANNULA WITH PROXIMALLY MOUNTED CAMERA

A cannula with a proximally mounted camera provides visualization of the brain during minimally invasive surgery. The device comprises a cannula with a camera mounted on the proximal end of the cannula with a view into the cannula lumen and the surgical field below the lumen. A prism, reflector or other suitable optical element is oriented between the camera and the lumen of the cannula to afford the camera a view into the cannula while minimizing obstruction of the lumen.

In one aspect, this disclosure relates to a laryngoscope having a channel for delivering an endotracheal tube to the trachea and its placement under continuous visualization by a camera and with controlled suction. The laryngoscope may further comprise one or more additional channels, including a suction and camera channel. In another aspect, this disclosure relates to medical systems comprising one of laryngoscopes according to this disclosure and one or more of adapters, tools and/or cameras.

Operative communication of light

A surgical access assembly comprises a trocar and a surgical instrument. The trocar comprises a housing and an access tube extending distally from the housing. The housing comprises a hollow light emitter. The housing and the access tube define a lumen extending through the housing and the access tube. The hollow light emitter is configured to project light in the lumen. The surgical instrument comprises an end effector and a shaft extending proximally from the end effector. The shaft comprises an optical receiver positioned within reach of the light from the hollow light emitter. The shaft further comprises a light guide extending from the optical receiver along at least a portion of the shaft toward the end effector.

ENDOSCOPE APPARATUS AND ENDOSCOPE SYSTEM

An endoscope apparatus enables observation using reflected light of white light and observation using fluorescence, and includes: an insertion portion configured to be insertable into a subject; an objective optical system; a transmitting optical system; a camera unit; an optical splitter configured to split light exiting through the transmitting optical system; an optical filter disposed in the transmitting optical system or the camera unit, the optical filter being configured to transmit the reflected light of the white light and the fluorescence and block the reflected light of the excitation light; a first image pickup device for picking up an image of the reflected light of the white light exiting through the optical filter and the optical splitter; and a second image pickup device for picking up an image of the fluorescence exiting through the optical filter and the optical splitter.
