The present invention is generally directed toward a laryngoscope having a handle, a rigid tube, and an optical subassembly. The handle has a distal end and a proximate end. The tube is hollow and also has a distal end having a distal opening and a proximate end having a proximate opening. The optical subassembly includes a light source located within the handle, a power source located within the handle and in communication with the light source and a light carrier extending between the handle and the tube and in communication with the light source and providing light inside and along the entire length of the tube.

Control device, endoscopic imaging device, control method, program, and endoscopic system

A control device includes an image quality control unit configured to control image quality of an image for display on a basis of optical axis angle information with reference to a scope axis of an endoscope and an image signal acquired by an image sensor. The optical axis angle information is information detected by information obtained by acquiring light source angle information controlled by an imaging device.

A DEVICE FOR VISUALIZATION OF INTERNAL TISSUE OF A PATIENT

A device for visualization of internal tissue of a patient's uterus, the device including a hand-held control unit, an elongated member, and an image capturing tip. To provide better light conditions, to reduce heat generation and related problems with excessive heating and to improve the ergonomic conditions, a device including an illumination structure having at least a first and a second optical fibre is provided.

Method and apparatus for illuminating an object field imaged by an image sensor

An illuminator apparatus and method for illuminating an object field imaged by a rectangular image sensor having a first aspect ratio is disclosed. The apparatus includes an optical fiber having a proximal end disposed to receive a plurality of input light beams, each light beam having differing spectral properties, the optical fiber being operable to transmit the light beams along the fiber to a distal end of the optical fiber. The apparatus also includes an integrating element disposed to receive the light beams from the distal end of the fiber and combine the light beams to produce a generally homogenous illumination beam at a rectangular output face of the integrating element. The apparatus further includes an illumination projector operable to project an image of the output face of the integrating element into the object field to produce a generally rectangular illuminated region of the object field substantially corresponding to the portion of the object field imaged by the rectangular image sensor.

Charging device

A charging device includes: a holder detachably connected to a connector of a camera head to which an endoscope is detachably connected; and a power supplier configured to supply power to a battery of the camera head held by the holder.

Endoscope, disposable endoscope system and light source for endoscope

An endoscope is provided that includes a first component, a second component, a light source, an image capturing element, and a light guide. The second component has a proximal end and a distal end with proximal end coupled to the first component. The light source is integrated in the first component and includes a laser and a converter. The laser emits primary light and the converter converts the primary light at least partially into secondary light that has a different wavelength. The image capturing element is arranged at the distal end. The light guide has an optical fiber that extends through the second component. The converter is coupled to the proximal end such that the primary and secondary light is injected into the optical fiber, is conducted from the proximal end to the distal end, and emitted at the distal end.

An apparatus, system, and method for fluorescence imaging with stray light reduction is described. The system including a light source to provide a first illumination of a scene to induce fluorescence from the scene, an image sensor to capture a fluorescence image of the scene during the first illumination, and a controller coupled to the light source, the image sensor, and memory that includes instructions that when executed by the controller causes the system to perform operations. The operations including comparing a first color channel value to a second color channel value of a given pixel included in the fluorescence image to identify one or more pixels of the fluorescence image as being affected by stray light. The operations further including generating a stray light image mask based, at least in part, on the one or more pixels of the fluorescence image identified as being affected by the stray light.
