A light source device includes: a first optical element that generates transmitted light obtained by removing a first wavelength band component from incident light and generates reflected light obtained by extracting the first wavelength band component from the incident light; a first light source that emits light that includes at least a component of the first wavelength band and that causes the light to be incident on the first optical element so as to be reflected light of the first optical element; a second light source that emits light so that light including a component of a wide second wavelength band including the first wavelength band to be transmitted light of the first optical element; and a control unit that controls driving of the first light source and the second light source. The control unit controls on/off of emission of the first and second light source emission light.

Various embodiments comprise endoscopes (e.g., arthroscopes) for viewing inside a cavity of a body. The endoscopes may include a tip, at least one solid-state emitter such as light emitting diode (LED), located at the distal end of the endoscope, an elongated member. The elongated member may include a plurality of lenses for transmitting light received from the tip member and an elongated conducting member for providing electric power to the solid-state emitter. The elongated conducting member may include conducting lines embedded in a flexible elongated insulating membrane. The tip member and the elongated member may be configured to dissipate heat generated by the solid-state emitter.

Encapsulated components of medical devices, and methods therefor

A distal end portion of a medical device may comprise an image capturing component; a light source; and an encapsulation having inner surfaces contacting and at least partially encompassing the image capturing component and the light source. A shape of the inner surfaces may be mirror image of a shape of exterior surfaces of the image capturing component and the light source that are contacted by the inner surfaces.

A device for determining the surface topology and associated color of a structure, such as a teeth segment, includes a scanner for providing depth data for points along a two-dimensional array substantially orthogonal to the depth direction, and an image acquisition means for providing color data for each of the points of the array, while the spatial disposition of the device with respect to the structure is maintained substantially unchanged. A processor combines the color data and depth data for each point in the array, thereby providing a three-dimensional color virtual model of the surface of the structure. A corresponding method for determining the surface topology and associate color of a structure is also provided.

ENDOSCOPE

An endoscope includes a pulley provided in an operation portion, having an outer diameter larger than an inner diameter of an endoscope insertion portion, and configured to wind a wire connected to a bending portion; and a wire guard that is arranged to cover a predetermined range of an outer peripheral portion of the pulley, and includes a guide wall arranged to extend within a range of a radius of the pulley from a contact point position at which the wire in contact with the pulley is separated from the pulley in a longitudinal axis direction of the operation portion. The wire guard includes two members each formed in a substantially semicircular plate shape, and coupling parts formed in arc shapes extending from both end portions of the two members and configured to couple the two members.

A lighting source and an endoscope are provided, and the lighting source is used for the endoscope. The lighting source includes a light-emitting diode (LED) chip and a substrate; the LED chip is arranged on and fixedly connected to the substrate, and is packaged into the lighting source; and the lighting source is circular ring-shaped or arc-shaped. The endoscope includes an endoscope tube; an objective lens, located at one end of the endoscope and at least partially located inside the endoscope tube; and the lighting source.
